  Did You Name Your CB?
Posted by: The Spaceman_imp - 09-30-2013, 04:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (103)

I've always named my bikes and cars. And boats, of course.

My kid named the CB "HAL," after the HAL 9000 computer in 2001 a Space Odyssey. He said the color reminds him of HAL's glowing red eye.

  changing oil

Need help. I am doing my first oil change (705miles) and I can't get the d--- filter loose. Went to pep-boys and bought a vicegrip type but can not break it loose. Thinking of an old way of driving a screw driver through the filter. Had anyone else had this trouble?Huh

A Pair of Honda Modern Classics
Posted by: Capo - 09-30-2013, 03:45 AM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (12)

The CB1100 nicely complements my 1989 GB500. Although I hope the CB does better in the US market than the GB did! I did not include the '80 CX500 in the shot...it doesn't fit the billing...but if I ever get around to cafe-ing it I'll allow it to participate in the next photo shoot.

As much of a Brit bike enthusiast as I am, the Hondas better capture my actual motorcycling passion from the '70's when the CB750 and Kawasaki Z1 pictures adorned my wall. And they are just beautifully built and great to ride. I'm not getting this 'lack of soul/ character' thing that others claim, and I'm happy with the balance of Brit and Japanese in my stable.

  ...and the canopies

i love buildings, and i found the bucuresti entrance canopies to be quite beautiful.

i took a lot of pictures, and these are a good sampling. some are strong and reflect the power of the building, while others are quite delicate and whimsical (getting in touch with my female side here…don’t tell my crew).

CB11 at the location of Easy Rider's Final Scene.

Jamboa and I took a lil road trip Saturday. Along the Atchafalaya River on Louisiana Hwy 105 North Of Krotz Springs. There is no Proper marker or sign for this "Iconic" location. However, after speaking to the locals we were able to pin point the small gravel gated driveway against the levee...

  Headlight Love

Just made an emergency DQ run (read an excuse to ride that the wife would buy). I cannot get over the amount of light generated by that one small headlight. It probably generates as bright and as wide a beam as the center light and driving lights on my 05 Yamaha Tour Deluxe. Thumbs Up

Liking this new Shoei GT Air
Posted by: HikerToo_imp - 09-29-2013, 09:49 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (23)

Had this helmet for a few weeks now( hence the sale of my 2 other Shoei's).
Just like the J-Cruise I use in the summer, the GT Air has the dark visor that comes down, VERY useful, quiet and the pinlock shield is amazing at stopping fog.
Feels like my head is riding in a Porsche :-)
