My Majesty was there too and a guy was looking at it pretty hard for his wife (I think..might have been for himself)

Wanted to share I got a rate I thought was pretty good from progressive who I've always had my bikes with. 417 for the year with replacement guarantee.
Maybe you all have done better bit I thought that was a solid rate and the replacment value is msrp of current model year not Bluebook. This is huge since the KBB kills this bike value in the 1st couple years.
Current kbb would suck for most of us.

I am a young member (but old guy) of this forum but I followed it for several weeks. As far as I observed many members are nearly suffering due to the gap in availability of different models, ABS and colors or even due to the total stop of imports for some areas Honda artificially raised. Simultaneously this forum is a global community of nice people who loves driving a bike and especially the CB 1100 in all variants.

Why we do not close this gap? I know such activities from other forums and communities, e.g. in IT and Gaming. It should be possible to im- and export the bikes or (spare) parts directly. In Germany it is quite common to import new and used bikes and cars from the US, sometimes even Japan, do the necessary vehicle approval and registration directly and enjoy smtg. not everybody owns in our country. Thus, some bikes were available (in low numbers) in Germany when Honda wasn't importing them.

We could do the same for the CB1100. E.g., I would volunteer to be a kind of contact point in Germany, collect the information, make the contact to the dealers, preorder bikes or parts, ask for transport and customs services as well as the 19% tax refunds which may apply, translate between German and English when necessary (Google translate isn’t perfect), etc. And I would be very grateful if someone would assist me later when I want to import some parts from companies and dealers who are not exporting to Germany, from areas where I do not understand the language (in my case for example French and Japanese) or just help me to find the best prices.

For sure, nobody will send me the money for a bike nor will I advance money on loan. But everything will be prepared when someone then fly here and collect his bike. And for some cheaper parts we can even try to trust each other. What is your opinion on this?

I always enjoy looking at pictures from others so I thought I would post some of my own and update it as I go along. Yesterday, with 50 degrees out I decided to go out to do a quick shake down run on my new used 750. I ran about 60 miles just trying to stay fairly close to home.

I stopped by old Abe Lincolns boyhood home. The cabin is not original but is as close as they could make it. Talk about hard living back in those days. Abe grew up basically out in the middle of no where and there is still not much close by. Here is the soil Abe walked on as a young boy and the field they farmed. Its rumored that ABe nearly drowned as a kid in knob creek next to the cabin and his cousin pulled him out with a tree branch.

I love big mile days. The only problem I see is a 55 MPH speed limit in Canada and the two border crossings. Other than that, it's very do-able.

Superbrace would like to fit check their fork brace on a 2013 CB1100.

I was going to do it but traded in my CB11 a few months ago.

It's been queried a few times around these parts as to why any manufacturer would build quality into a motorcycle, seeing as how most owners (me included) never keep them beyond 50,000 miles.

The answer to that is quite simple. The used bike market. Any marque whose bikes fall apart or become unreliable at 50K miles is going to suffer a bad reputation for reliability and durability.

The used bike market is very strong, and in fact, used bike sales have been stronger in recent years ("it's the economy, stoopid" is the usual reason) than have new bike sales.

7 grand for the same bike most of us paid over 10 grand for? That is not stoopid. There are a lot of sharp operators who profit from folks like me and Ferret, who off nearly new bikes in perfect condition (yes, I have done this quite a few times).
