   Short ride on Chartreuse slopes
Posted by: Delphisa - 02-15-2014, 06:26 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (13)

Hello

As the weather was not very nice (cloudy and windy), I made only a very short ride this week-end, just up the road climbing in the Chartreuse mountain nearby my home, toward a small village called Mont Saint Martin. I took time for a few pictures however... I like this small and winding road, with some nice sights toward the valley.Cool

  Who's ordered / purchased the 2014 CB1100?
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 02-15-2014, 12:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (324)

And now there's two... I joined Ferrett today and did the deal on a new 2014 CB1100 Deluxe. I'm trading in my 2013 CB1100 but get to keep it, and ride it, until the new one arrives in late March. I'll post pictures to this thread when I pick it up. This new bike is definitely a collectible... I can't see how Honda could make this new model any better or more like the orig CB short of doing 4 into 4 pipes. I'm super excited!!!!!! Excited

  Non-US Market Accessories
Posted by: shdwghst457_imp - 02-15-2014, 06:20 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

I followed a link to the Japanese Honda site to view the factory top case for the CB1100, and noticed that they also carry a GPS unit for it (Gathers M G3). Japan also has the Type II handlebars; what other goodies are we missing out on in the US? Here we only have the gold fork bolts, chrome headlight housing, chrome gauge housing, heated grips, tank pad and rear carrier.

  Fork seal leak
Posted by: shdwghst457_imp - 02-15-2014, 04:25 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (42)

Well, after taking my CB back to the dealership today to have the GPS device uninstalled (didn't like the interface) the tech noticed that my front right fork seal is leaking! So now I'm without my bike for an undetermined amount of time, as they can't even order the part until Tuesday, and it's leaking down onto the brake!

  New Honda Rear Rack
Posted by: CB4ME_imp - 02-14-2014, 11:45 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (29)

Honda is offering a new rear rack for the CB1100, available from Mr T. for 23,500 yen. I wonder if it was designed for the 2014 model which has the different seat and a shallower angle to the grip bar.

He also has the original rear rack, still at 19,000 yen. (Honda US list price is $275).

Ahh to be young again....what a remarkable starter bike.

My first bike was a 1968 125 cc HD Rapido, not quite the likes of this:

SF Bay Area ride with yosh stainless steel slip on
Posted by: IndianRider_imp - 02-13-2014, 02:08 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (10)

Installed the yoshimura stainless steel slip on exhaust yesterday and took the CB out on a short local twisty ride (mission blvd to palomares road via Sunol pass in the SF east Bay Area)

I am loving the look of the yoshimura exhaust .. It's not too loud at all withe the included silent baffle in .. Has a with a deeper bassy sound and since I ride with ear plugs all the time it wasn't too loud at moving speeds .. I felt the 3000-4000 rpm range had more punch in 2-3-4 gears coming out of the corner but maybe it was just psychological with the deeper sound .. I never looked at any Dyno charts to see if there is any increase in the mid range with the yoshimura can and am running it all stock otherwise ..

Enjoy the pics .. The first one was taken facing east with the moon in the background
