Lake Superior 1000 - Ole - 02-19-2014 So, the question is, who is with me? http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23503801&postcount=1 I love big mile days. The only problem I see is a 55 MPH speed limit in Canada and the two border crossings. Other than that, it's very do-able. RE: Lake Superior 1000 - the Ferret - 02-19-2014 What bike are you riding ole? RE: Lake Superior 1000 - Ole - 02-19-2014 the CB of course! RE: Lake Superior 1000 - the Ferret - 02-19-2014 Wow..cool! Best of luck.
RE: Lake Superior 1000 - emptysea - 02-19-2014 Timing is bad for me, but otherwise I'd be in. Good luck, Ole Lake Superior 1000 - Elipten_imp - 02-19-2014 What, not going up to Houghton? Afraid there may still be snow, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk RE: Lake Superior 1000 - howlindaug_imp - 02-20-2014 Ole, Oh I SO want to do this! Timing is an issue. I'll be at the MMM in Boyne City the weekend before. I've wanted to see if could get through an IBA 1K. If the weather behaves this would be a beautiful ride. Let me give this some thought. I'll PM you later. Thanks for the head's up. RE: Lake Superior 1000 - Ole - 02-20-2014 I have a timing issue as well but am confidant I will overcome it. I am on-call at work that whole week. I think I can persuade a co-worker to cover me if I provide him many beers. RE: Lake Superior 1000 - Ole - 02-24-2014 My beer plan worked! A co-worker is covering for me. So a Lake Superior 1K is in my future. Sent the check in the mail to the guy organizing it. He rides a ST1100. Should be a fun 24 hours! RE: Lake Superior 1000 - banjobart_imp - 02-26-2014 The Mounties did not bother me until I hit 80 MPH. Then it was just a warning. The border crossings should only take a minute or two with a passport. It is a nice ride, well worth doing. |
