I am very keen to buy a 2014 Deluxe model in Australia. Honda Australia don't bring this model in as you may or may not know.

I have started a campaign to try to get them to change their minds.

I and many others are very disappointed to hear this news that HONDA AUSTRALIA will not be bringing this model into the country.
Given the amazing improvement the 2014 model offers with 6 speed transmission, ABS, larger fuel tank and most importantly a 4 into 2 pipe arrangement this model will become an Icon and for Australia to miss out is a very bad decision.
This model wouldn't be targeted to the average punter, more so the baby boomer who is getting back into the bike scene and who would have owned or does own a CB 750, and these are many and growing.
These people whilst cost conscious have the money to buy what they want.
Therefore whilst cost is always a consideration of course I doubt it would be the major trigger for a purchasing decision in this case.

I could understand if I was living in some tiny third world country but I am not.

I will be stepping up a campaign via forums and any other way I can to encourage HA to change their mind and bring this fabulous model into the country.

I fully understand the ADR regulations and the costs etc! however given this bike is going to most countries in the world where their rules are at least as tough as ours, there probably aren't many modifications to be completed.

This bike is as up to date safety wise as anything on the market anywhere in the world.

Don't get me wrong I am a HONDA owner and have been since 1973......and I do understand the economics of the business.

Space is tight in my garage and I had been backing the CB into the parking spot in front of my car since the CB is small enough but was getting tired of it. I used to park a BMW R1200RT in the same spot and before that a Harley Street Glide (but I used a J&S rolling jack for that beast, great quality jack by they way).

Was going to get a Legal Speeding "Park-n-Move" that would let me roll around the bike once it was on the center stand, but what if I got another bike without a center stand?

So I spent a long time trying to find a decent quality "dolly" that would let me roll the bike onto the thing and then roll it into the parking spot. Finally ordered the Cycle Glyder by Droptail Trailers out of Texas - http://www.droptailtrailers.com/.

Yes, you can definitely find cheaper ones, but their version has a lot of fat casters plus I figured the v-channel would help keep the bike centered when rolling onto the dolly.



This thing isn't cheap at around $240 or so depending on the retailer and you guys can certainly get it shipped for a lot less than I paid, but I have to say this thing is SOLID.

While researching how to order it with a semi-reasonable shipping cost (got it from J.C. Whitney using some discount coupons, remember them?) the manufacturer told me how big the box was but the overall dimensions didn't quite compute in my brain so when it arrived I was surprised it was so big and that the main section is one piece and not bolted together. The thing barely fit into my SUV and good thing the nice guys at the UPS Store helped me load it. Did I say it was SOLID & HEAVY?





I ordered it after watching some guy with a Harley touring rig ride his bike onto the dolly and roll it into his storage shed. That big cruiser fit onto the dolly so that gives me all kinds of options for future bikes. This thing is a keeper since it was such an expensive hassle to order.

CAUTION NOTES: Because I am short the first time I rode my bike onto the dolly I could barely reach the ground and lower the side stand, so I scrounged up some "pallets" I had laying around to give me some solid footing.



I also had to add a piece of wood into the side stand section since the bike leaned over way too much and made me panic.



Now it's a piece of cake to ride the bike onto the dolly. When it's time to ride I swivel the front end toward the garage door and roll it off. Rotate the dolly 180 degrees so it's ready for me to ride the bike back onto it when I return.

I wish there were cheaper ways to ship heavy but good quality stuff to Hawaii. The last time I ordered something this heavy was when I got the J&S jack for the Harley. The shipping cost almost as much as the jack, but at least the manufacturer up in Wisconsin packed it really well and even used injected foam to fill up empty space in the cardboard box. I recently mounted a fork brace and experienced an improvement in handling. As a result, I'm now looking to improve the performance of my rear shocks. I'm a bit surprised that I've modified my bike so much (PCV, Staintune, K&N air filter, Superbrace fork brace), but I've rationalized that I what I really liked was the CB1100 prototype, which looks a bit sportier than our stock bikes, as it seems to have featured better rear shocks (with external reservoir), apparently larger front fork diameter, and maybe even higher performance exhaust. I'm also doing much more canyon riding than straight-line cruising and city driving, so little bits of performance here and there matter to me.

I care about how the overall bike will look, and don't want to depart very far from the silver/chrome/black/red colors that the stock bike has...and that seems to rule out several rear shock alternatives I found discussed on other threads.

Again, I'd prefer a high performance rear shock that looks similar to stock (chrome/silver without external reservoir) or similar to the CB1100 prototype (chrome/silver with external reservoir). I also don't want to mill out a portion of the grab bars, as I believe at least one forum member did to provide clearance for external reservoirs. Is this a lot to ask for? Can anyone provide suggestions?

One week later my new CB is supposed to be in.

just wondering who besides me went riding this past weekend. I took out my 81 Suzuki 650 yesterday. didn't have the heart to take the cb out. I live in upstate n.y. too much water, salt, dirt, loose gravel still on the roads. temp was 48 degrees. it was good to get out though.

Quite expensive, but imho this is the best looking exhaust yet for the CB!

Ok. So I have a new 13 cb.
The word on the street is those buying 14' will also be owning some accessories unless you let them go on the trade.
Which btw I highly recommend not doing as the dealers usually just about steal the accessories bolted on in any trade.
You are way better selling in the open market.

With that said
I have my eye on several accessories. Rack for one. But have seen other accessories that are cool.

Any of the SF Bay Area contingent interested in a group ride March 1st or March 8?

Here's a route I was thinking of:
- Start in Milpitas
- ride north on Calaveras Road
- lunch in Sunol
- Palomares Road
- Redwood Road
- Pinehurst Rd back up to Skyline.
- From there we can decide to keep going on Skyline or call it a day and hop down to the Interstate.

Anyone interested?

Needing to mount a rear box on my 2013 stock rear luggage rack. Looks like drilling a couple extra holes on Givi mount is an alternative. Any suggestions would be appreciated.....
