Anyone tried to install front fork boots on their CB1100? If so, what works and where to get them.

Why different bikes for different countries?
Posted by: tbone455_imp - 02-27-2014, 02:46 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (26)

Can someone give me the reason why Honda doesn't sell all versions of the CB1100 in all markets? I could understand not selling a bike in a country where it just doesn't sell well but why only this color or that variant etc etc?

  Engine Case Logo

Has anyone painted the Honda logo on their 2013 engine cases:

To look like the 2014 Deluxe cases?

Any techniques you’d recommend?

Are there liquid masking products? I’ve seen them for home improvement but not for the work required on a bike.

  Dead KLR
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 02-26-2014, 12:19 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (14)

Sorry...if I'm out of line asking this question on a CB1100 forum, I'll understand. But, perhaps this could happen with our CB's and we all might learn something. I was back in Ga. last weekend and went to fire up the KLR. Took it off the tender, turned the key (the lights came on), I then thumbed the starter and the bike went immediately dead, lights out, the engine never turned over. Turned off the key, turned it back on...deader than a door nail. I'm not on any other forum but have communicated with other KLR owners on Facebook on their thoughts. Does anyone have any ideas? The battary was replaced 2 1/2 years ago, it is maintenance free (believe it or not, the orig battery was not). I last started the bike over the holidays...no problem. It was not ridden much last year, maybe 500 miles. Thoughts? Bad battery? Blown main fuse? The tender seems to be fine...
Guth, if you end up deleting the thread, I'll understand. Thanks all.

  Duluth Trading Company Jeans
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 02-26-2014, 11:56 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (14)

Looking for riding jeans other than the Kevlar lined Draggon Jeans I usually wear for cool weather riding so bought two pair of the Duluth Trading Company Fire Hose work pants. Though they wont offer the same level of protection as armored riding pants, they are constructed of very tough material (like a fire hose) and would certainly protect better than regular jeans that I usually wear in summer. This is a high quality product and a good value I think.

  AMA
Posted by: cbfan_imp - 02-26-2014, 10:14 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (6)

Anyone an AMA member, if so have you used their roadside assistance? I'm thinking about dropping Allstate assistance and supporting the cause. I cannot find info on how many miles they will tow before you have to start paying. I like both because they will tow any vehicle you own RV, car or motorcycle. AMA is about 50 bucks(you get towing if you do automatic yearly payment) and Allstate 100+. Thanks.

  2014 accessories from Japan
Posted by: CB4ME_imp - 02-25-2014, 12:24 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (1)

I asked Takashi about accessories for the 2014 CB1100, including the blue and silver tanks and matching side covers:

Thank you very much for the update. That is good to hear the Black style being sold this year in the U.S.
but I wonder why the Deluxe model with cast wheels.
I will add the Honda's spoke wheels on the website once I find out the price.

ChicDesign is developing a new Road Comet for the 2014model.
They said their front & rear fender, Guyra gauntlet will be fine.
I will tell Force Design about the new side panels for the new colors,
I think that is what they have to do..!

and, I got a new information just the other day from WM.
They will release CR750 kit for the CB1100 this year.

It seems many new products are coming this year.
I hope you and US customers will like some of themSmile

All the best,

Takashi Takase

The possibilities are endless.......
