You may have done this to death previously, but bear with me please, I'm a newbie. I am a little altitudenally challenged, and would like a little more solid footing at stops. (I'm 5'5") Any suggestions for lower seats? Thanks in advance!

Honda took a very different approach by building and developing an entirely different, lower spec bike for the Open category featuring traditional valve springs, standard gearbox, lower spec engine and lower spec suspension. Nakamoto also stated that “secrets” inside the full factory Repsol engines would not be shared with the Open class teams.

1. Looks. It "gets" the retro thing down perfectly. How many times have you been asked what year the bike is? Stone cold perfect, in my view.

2. Brakes. 10/10 here. They are superb, sourced from an earlier CBR1000RR. Terrific power, great modulation, well-matched to the mission. (Non-ABS owner here)

3. Chassis. For this type of bike, the steel frame is hell-for-strong and doesn't really exhibit much flex until pushed hard. By that time you'd be wanting another bike anyway as you're running out of cornering clearance. Forks are pretty massive, swing arm is stout.

4. Engine. Runs like a Swiss watch. Power band as flat as they come, but pulls hard to redline, and will get you out of harm's way whilst stretching your arms pretty well. Smooth, substantial, and just looks right. It's the centerpiece of a damned fine motorcycle.

5. Feel. This thing feels like a real motorcycle ought to. Ergos are good, but easily tailored to most riders. All-day freeway rides are cake. Slamming through the rough, tight twisties is no issue if you know what you are about.

6. Instrumentation. Just the facts, ma'am. Nice big analog clocks up there, don't need no stinking gear position indicator. Love to zing that needle into the red zone; the bike loves that.

There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about retro-fitting the new factory wire wheels to a bike with alloy wheels. Maybe this is a stupid question, but do we know that the brake rotors for the alloy wheels will bolt right up to the wire wheels. I LOVE wire wheels and am so disappointed we didn't get them in the U.S.

Just got back from the dealer. Took him my titles, and spare keys from my trades, which he is picking up Friday morning, wrote him a check for the balance, so my 2014 CB 1100 Deluxe is paid in full

Now, I just need to wait for it to come in at the end of March.

I also reminded him he needed to put 2 new rubber lever end covers on the new one for me before I would accept it

I cant believe a bike thats been around for several years (overseas) still does not offer a stock sissybar backrest. Am I wrong, or did I miss something? Love my CB1100 but accessories are pricy or non existant.

When I was shopping for a new bike last month, I stopped by a dealer to look at a new V-strom. This dealer also carries KTM and on the floor was the new 1190 Adventure. This is one beautiful bike if it can be said of adventure style bikes in general, and my "want one" meter immediately went off the scale. My last bike of this genre was a 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 and I have regretted selling it since I watched it ridden away by the new owner. All bikes in this category are tall but I was able to adapt my stubby body to the Tiger but the KTM is taller yet, that and the price was enough to cool my jets.

Just an FYI guys

I ordered the TSR 4 aluminum air funnels but sent them back to Takashi. The funnels themselves were pieces of art, but.....

You have to enlarge the 4 holes on the air box to mount them and you also have to drill 2 additional holes in the cover.

I didn't know this when I ordered them, and TSR's instruction sheet, now updated, omitted these step. I asked Takashi how they enlarged the holes of if they were going to offer the cover with this process already done. TSR recommended that I use a Dremmel like tool to do this enlargement and they have no plans to offer a modified cover for sale. Without a precise way to cut the holes, you'll have the potential for air leaks.

As for the two additional holes, TSR says without them, the bike has idle issues.
