  ASAHI police panniers
Posted by: Lambotte_imp - 03-09-2014, 12:48 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

Has anyone purchased the ASAHI Police Panniers for their CB 1100 yet? They are not the biggest but appear to fit the bike very well. If someone has can you give your impression and submit some images? Thanks.

Whose CB1100 was on Treasure Island today?
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 03-09-2014, 11:19 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

I saw a stock CB1100 parked across the street from 'Caddies' (a beachfront bar and grille) on the Sunset Beach part of Treasure Island today. It was there from around 11:00 am till about 3:00. I've never seen one of our CB's 'in the wild' before this... either riding or parked. Was it someone from this forum?

  I need to ride..before it's too late

I thought I was 100% satisfied with my CB1100 for the rest of my life( am currently 52), but for some reason I can not get this BMW S1000R out of my mind, I would LOVE to have it.

I will say I rode the CB yesterday for 20 or so miles and the good feeling came back, maybe it was just me obsessing on things this winter, too much internet and magazine time...after all, Kawasaki has a similar 1000 naked and I did not want one......luckily the nearest BMW dealer is 50 miles away....

  Bartlett Lake ride, again!
Posted by: rboe - 03-09-2014, 08:55 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (12)

Had coffee with the gang at The Grotto in Cave Creek then wandered up to Bartlett (between more law enforcement presence and gravel on the road from a recent gully washer speeds were well within the sane limits).

In the 60's when I left the Grotto and pushing 80 when I road home with no breezes to speak of, very very pleasant.

I was looking for wild flowers to photograph and I also wanted to get to the top of a hill that was several hundred feet higher than I had reached before. So included a few landscape shots to give you an idea of the scale. Smile

For starters; here is my ride to the lake.
[attachment=1130]From my previous personal high there is this saddle then a steep climb to the top, it's a ways. Smile
A view from the top.
This shot shows the road way way down there. Smile

The 1100 got a new friend or Deb goes Retro

Most of you know we collect old Honda's and Deb's love of the CX500 genre, this has had her wanting a real Moto Guzzi for awhile and when the new 2014 V7 Special came out she had to have it. So meet the newest member of the family. She's a beauty!

  Loud Pipes
Posted by: Greg Davis_imp - 03-08-2014, 12:14 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (37)

Just wanted to comment on loud pipes. When motorcycles have excessive noise, ( loud pipes ) it annoys most non motorcyclists. and is annoying to many motorcyclists also. Loud pipes hurt all motorcyclists. One should do whatever they want to their own motorcycle, ride wherever they want, as long as it doesn't hurt others, and loud pipes hurt all motorcyclists

  engine heat and lean angles
Posted by: fredkb_imp - 03-08-2014, 11:48 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (29)

Hello everyone. My name is Fred and I drive a 2007 suzuki dr650 as a commuter to work 66 miles daily. I am considering buying a 2013 cb1100. I am curious if the cb1100 engine generates a large amount of heat to the legs as compared to the air/oil cooled dr650 which is tolerable. Also curious about the cornering and lean angle for spirited riding on curvy roads. Thanks.

I've looked and tried the search to find a thread here where a member posted some pictures and descriptions of some very effective reflective tape. Can anyone provide a link?

By the way, I have have been researching several bikes. You folks here have a great forum community. It has answered anything I could think of asking and so much more, and, everyone here has a great attitude.Thumbs Up
