Right after my wife and very frequent pillion passenger bought me the CB1100 for my birthday last year we went for a brief but completely uncomfortable 2 up ride. We are not little people but since then I have lost 30lbs and she has lost 20. Tonight we went for a longer and much less uncomfortable two up jaunt on Katie... Do more two up riding on this bike? Could; not should. I think we will keep to to the big touring machine for that kind of ride where we have more room for our large... elbows ;-D

Just wondering if anybody has one of these and what they think of it. I am shopping for a new lid and was looking in this price range. HJC makes a CL-17 that looks pretty nice and gets good reviews as well. Curious if any of you guys have one of those and what you think of them. Thanks.

I like these over the aftermarket because they do not use the engine case mounting bolt. If you were to have a heavy tip-over with an engine guard mounted to the engine case bolt you could crack the engine case, resulting in BIG $$$$ to fix. Engine guards are there to PROTECT the engine, not INCLUDE the engine in the crash.

found this jardine backrest on ebay for $85. Had to fashion bracket out of 1/8 inch aluminum.

This is the first bike I've owned where the speedometer is accurate. 70 mph on the CB speedo also reads 70 mph via GPS. 70 mph showed~ 4000 rpms on the tachometer. According to this gearing/speed calculator I've used for years...

My CB will do 70.2 mph at 3650 rpms. So my tach reads ~350 rpms fast. Not sure if this discrepancy will hold true at lower or higher speeds. I'll keep checking.

All the data needed for use of the calculator is in the manual.

Finally got a chance to take pictures of the twins side by side. Not the best pics, but I'm in the middle of insulating, painting, building new work space, and heating my garage, and had a chance to park them side by side. The old K6 may be ready for a resto now that I have the CB1100 to get out on for a breather. So excuse the mess and say hello to mah little friends....
