Puig Dark Smoke Naked on '14 std
Posted by: MFGUSA_imp - 05-17-2014, 10:03 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (33)

My Puig windscreen came in yesterday ( Amazon $44.95) and it took @ 20 minutes to install it. The destructions weren't specific or clear on whether the mounting tabs go between the Headlamp and support or outside of it but after mounting it both ways I decided on outside of the support, at least for now. Other than that its simple.

The mounting brackets appeared to be stainless but were magnetic so I'll have to keep an eye on them for rust. I wasn't going to do the spark test.

I think it looks OK but maybe a little too dark. Not at all like my Givi on the 599. God I love this bike!

  First Week Impressions: 14 DLX
Posted by: evanworld_imp - 05-17-2014, 05:23 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (4)

First, it's a thrill to have this bike and after a week in riding through various conditions - urban, rural, dense traffic and open road - I can agree with the positive reviews which led me to take a chance on the DLX. I'm a long-time scooterist and Vespa GTS 300 convert so you can understand that going from a twist n go to the CB1100 caused me a fair amount of angst. That fear fell away 5 minutes after I hit the road. It's just a solid ride - not flashy as most folks confirm - but extremely confident and straight-forward. As I have bonded with the bike this week I rolled the throttle to test its power - and the power is there with bells on. Even cruising in 6th @ 45 mph I feel good knowing it could rocket to 65 without losing an ounce of composure. It's extremely nimble, showing much more ease, balance and composure around curves than my scoot.

More soon +

  Special Day

I think by now it is very early on the morning of 18 May in Cinncinati. That means IT'S THE FERRET'S BIRTHDAY.

Very best wishes to you, Ferret, for today and the year ahead. May you cover many happy miles on the CB, the DY and the Majestic. And all in good weather.

Best wishes.

Honda Accessory's list for the 2014 CB
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 05-17-2014, 01:44 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (9)

I went to the dealer today to inquire about the rack they owe me and to see what else was new.
They showed me a one page accessory's list hot off the presses. I almost got a photo of
It before they snatched it back. It showed cost and retail. The photo below is a listing of part
numbers, retail price, and description of what's available from Honda in the US which they
typed up for me. The sheet I originally looked at showed these items with 2 columns after
each one. A column for the Standard and one for the Deluxe. Every item had an X in both
columns EXCEPT for the rack which only showed as being available for the standard.
They had no idea when the rack will be available for the deluxe. I ordered the engine guard...
they gave me 10% off and its expected to arrive in about a week.

  I Got It Today!
Posted by: shysue2_imp - 05-17-2014, 09:16 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

Hey Guys, just had to share. Instead of getting delivery of the bike on Monday they were able to get it from their warehouse and assembled TODAY! Only had time for the 30 mile ride home from N. Valley Honda since we're having dinner with the in-laws tonight, but that 30 miles was a blast. I know I made the right decision! I am so happy!

Longer ride and pics tomorrow. Yay! I know y'all understand. Celebrate

  Millwood - Manor Road
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 05-17-2014, 07:11 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (10)

About 50 miles west of home is a little county road that weaves through some nice farm country between the small towns of Millwood and Manor. We four-laned it to Millwood this morning on US82 and then turned south on the Millwood-Manor Road.

A stop for gas in Waycross.

The trail of honor Jackson MS .
Posted by: Ridem32_imp - 05-17-2014, 05:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Our harley shop in Jackson Mississippi does THE TRAIL OF HONOR for our veterans every year. He spends around. $80K on this feeding everyone for free! He has cannons set up, even shoots them. It's a very nice gathering ! They shut down all roads only letting bikers come in to park, cars have to park about 5 miles away and they bus in people. I will share some pics !   Monolock Transfer
Posted by: evanworld_imp - 05-17-2014, 02:13 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

I brought the CB1100 DLX into the garage with a Vespa 300 GTS and prefer to share the Monolock top case I have on the GTS rather than investing in a new setup. Issue is the Givi SR1118 chrome rack for the CB lists "Monokey only." Has anyone faced the same issue?
