Just for the fun of it, if we all had a choice 13's and 14's to have spoke wheels and tubed tires at no cost difference, who would have gone that way? Sorry im just killin time before I go to work!Biker

   Action Cameras!

Fancy buying one, not sure what to get.

Some say the GoPros are over rated and I've seen YouTube comparisons with Sony AS100V and the Sony looks to have better colours.

The GoPro has more goodies and mounting options however, and is the cool name in this market.

I also looked at the JVC Addixxion GC-XA2 which is waterproof without a case and seems to take good footage.

Have you guys got any experience with any of these?

Nice restoration, what year is it?

Because of our lousy spring weather, I haven't had the CB out very much yet, but several times when I've stopped for gas or a coffee with other people around, I get the above comment and question.
They are quite stunned to learn that it's a brand new motorcycle - then they realize their mistake when they get very close to the bike.
But that shouldn't be too much of a surprise because there are so few around and have only been available in Canada since 2013.
I'm sure it has happened to many of you too.

  GoPro Wifi Anyone?
Posted by: Sfomoto_imp - 05-08-2014, 08:36 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (7)

Does anyone use a GoPro camera with the Wifi back and remote? I just received mine and am anxious to work with it.
I have been using my iPhone for videos and thought I'd post this one

  The Joy of EX
Posted by: Captain Klutz_imp - 05-08-2014, 03:26 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (19)

[Title chosen to avoid the more obvious "Sex with the EX".]

After an endless 6 weeks of waiting she is finally in. I brought her home today, safe and dry, just before two weeks of rain begin tomorrow...

The VIN is 625, which everybody easily recognizes as 5 to the power of FOUR.

I had her dealer pre-farkled with the chrome meter cover (08F72-MGC-D30) and the chrome head light case (08F71-MGC-D30). Here's what the result looks like up close:

The Pyramid Fenda Extenda is already on my desk and engine guards are in the mail.
The Kawasaki W650 gaiters are an option as soon as I find a place where they don't rob me blind for two pieces of rubber. No RLETs at the time, but maybe some HBET (handle bar end thingies) in the future, or even custom break/throttle handles. We'll see.

The first 41km were just amazing. Even though the EX certainly does look mightier than the 2013 I had a test ride on (due to the bigger = wider tank), it feels almost the same. It does vibrate a little more at the handles, which might be expected for a brand new bike. I can only look up to this piece of Japanese engineering!

SF Bay Area Ride in May
Posted by: Rolls_imp - 05-07-2014, 02:25 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (41)

Seems about time for a gathering of CB1100 riders to enjoy the fine spring weather. Let me know if you're interested and we'll start working on penciling in a date. This Sunday is available for me, but it's pretty short notice, so I'm thinking the following weekend is more probable.

I was thinking of an easy ride through the Santa Cruz mountains might be central for our geographically diverse group, but I'm open to suggestions.

I found this when I dismounted at the gas station at the end of my evening commute today.

There is no other damage to the assembly. I am at a loss for words.

Pipemasters

He sent me some lovely pics of one of their CB1100's mocked up with a set. Also, here is a Youtube link to their set up running: [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL6GmnRmI9o]CB1100 4 into 4 Stainless Exhaust

Enjoy! Beer

P.S. I don't work or advertise for Pipemasters. I'm just an enthusiast interested in possibly getting these should I ever finally get a CB1100. Cool

Everyone's tastes are different, but this strikes me as one ugly motorcycle.

Does anyone have pictures of what you'd consider a ugly bike?
