I had these foot peg lowering brackets on my ST1300 bike a few years ago. They lowered the pegs 1" to help my long legs. I want to do the same thing to my recently acquired CB1100. Anyone know a good source for new brackets?

Last summer I sold my beloved 2014 CB1100 Deluxe because I am aging and want to have a stable of light bikes. I replaced it with a Yamaha SR400. Still have several other 1000 cc bikes for distance riding. I recently saw an ad for a low mileage 1999 Valkyrie which was local. I had one and sold it 15 years ago because it was HEAVY and I didn't want to own it when it needed carb work. Just for giggles and grins, I went to look at it and it looked NEW and had 6850 mi. The seller owns a automotive repair center and is a lifelong mechanic. The Valkyrie belonged to a friend of his who purchased it new and parked it because he was getting old. Seller rebuilt the carbs and did routine maintenance. Even though it violated all of my rules for bike purchase at 71 years old, I bought it to enjoy as long as I can ride it safely. I had recently met a gentleman who has 3 Valkyries and knows all things Valkyrie. My new ride runs perfectly and I have done all other maintenance requirements except replacing the 15 year old tires and properly servicing the final drive splines with moly grease. Getting this beast in the air is a frightening project but my new friend has done it many times and generously offered to help me with the project and teach me. I miss the CB1100 but I am loving my new toy. Even though I don't have a CB1100, I still follow the forum.

I wasn't impressed with the Honda GN4 10w40 that the dealership installed when i bought the bike with 8900 miles on it. It came out looking like coffee after only 3k miles. So I started looking for alternatives.

I know a lot of folks here like the Rotella T6 5w40 but I saw some used oil analysis at BITOG that showed it sheared easily and might not be the best choice for an oil cooled bike that is hard on oil like the CB1100.

I had used T4 15w40 in my Shadow 750s and my old Nighthawk 750, and the dealership assured me 15w40 wouldn't hurt the CB1100, so I decided to try the T6 15w40 as that seems to resist shearing better and is also MA2 rated (rated, not certified...)

The T6 15w40 held up much better than the Honda GN4 10w40, but it was causing ticking from the top of the engine. 15w40 grade is too stout and simply isnt a good match with the CB1100.

A few people on BITOG recommended the T5 10w30, but I was hesitant since it's not MA or MA2 rated. Decided to give it a try since the oil analysis looked very much like a motorcycle oil, and there were several people there using in bikes similar to the CB1100 such as rhe ZRX1200.

I'm not knocking anyone's choice of oil here, I just want to report that my Eleven is doing great on the T5 10w30, very smooth and quiet, and no shifting issues at all.

According to reports on BITOG forum, the T5 10w30 resists shearing very well, and the ZRX rider reported the T5 was still in grade after 5000 miles. I fully expect it will perform similarly in the CB1100.

Rotella T5 10w30 is a better motorcycle oil than many other oils that are MA certified. You can use Rotella T5 in your CB1100 with confidence.

Ps. My CB1100 takes between 3.8 and 3.9 quarts to fill including a filter change. There appears to be some confusion over this in some of the manuals and online. At least on my bike, the 2014 Standard, aka "The Black One", a full 4 quarts overfills it and completely blots out the sight glass.

I need an outdoor cover. Care to make a recommendation? Unfortunately this is the type of product that seems to be made and sold by everyone & their brother. Tough to choose when there are unlimited options. I am looking for something high-quality for spring, summer, and fall use.

I have searched for this, but help needed. Do the center stem cover allow for fitment? I haven’t removed the nut ever, and I was thinking of boring the old handle bar mount hole bigger. I have clip on’s, so two empty holes already that are just a bit small for it. No handle bar room without getting weird.
