The old forum gave us the option to delete a new post within a given window of time. I noticed that functionality was present initially, but now missing. It would be nice to have the option to remove a post within a few minutes at least.

Has there ever been a western usa cb1100 rally?  pdedse, Rpdrpd01, I know you're both, and myself as well, out here on the left coast.  Do you think there are enough other CB1100 folks that we'd have a chance at doing a western states rally ?

Please be advised that I spent some time this evening replacing the interim header with a new image. A few items for your consideration:

• Clear the cache on your browser and reload the Forum URL to view the Forum’s new header. 
  
• The optimal header image size for the Theme we created for this site is 1800 pixels wide by 80 pixels high.
  
• The Responsive Theme deployed senses the orientation of the device you are using and should adjust automatically. 
  
• Color profiles and fonts are embedded in the new image. It should always render properly.
  
• If you are viewing the Forum on a Phone, I recommend turning the phone into landscape mode. In Portrait Mode, it gets a little “squishy.”
  
• I have some experience with photography and have taken countless glamour shots of my motorcycles. Many of you are great photographers. However, the aspect ratio of the header image does not lend itself to any of the photos available royalty free from Honda or from the photos posted by Members of this Forum. Hence, I abandoned using an image and opted to use only text. 
  
• I reread the history of the CB1100 and “The Power of Dreams” tagline deeply resonated with me. Hence, it is the focal point of the header design.
  
• I purposely used a different shade of red to set off the scripted “The Power of Dreams” gold in the header.

It was only after riding with another CB this past weekend that I realized my front brake responsiveness on the old CB just isn't what it used to be.  Its as of the engagement position on the lever is about 15-20% farther down than on a fresher bike. The brakes work.  They stop me just fine. There's no squeak.  The pads are relatively new with less than 4000 miles on them.  The fluid is fresh, and the performance didn't change for better or worse after it was bled. 

Any ideas what could be causing this? What can I do to get those snappy CB1100 brakes back?

In the latest episode of my attempts to Squelch the Squeek, I put a pack of adhesive shims on the original Honda factory pads that I removed in my first attempt to cure the problem.

After putting the pads and springs back in the calipers with some fresh new 3M silicone on the slide bolts, I pumped the brakes a bit to move the pistons back out and was ready to give them a test ride.

I took the bike on a ride up a local canyon and was very ginger with braking initially since these pads definitely aren't properly seated any longer. After running the pads gently for a while, I rode them in pretty hard coming back down the canyon. The squeal reduction with this attempt has turned out to be more effective than any other attempt I have made to date using all manner of goops, greases and pads. 

However, I do note that while pushing the bike in the garage after getting back from my ride, the brakes seem to be dragging a bit. Not enough to make pushing the bike difficult, just enough to make a sound. I suspect that the thickness of the 4 shims combined with a set of pads that have barely any miles on them has made the brake fluid reservoir a tad too full. Since I am due for my annual fluid change, I picked up some Pro Honda DOT4 and will flush the lines and return the fluid to the proper levels and see if that remedies the minor drag issue.

On the 1st of May we had a superb weather in south east of France, I have been on the road the whole day, on some small roads around Grenoble.
The goal was to follow the Belledonne Balcony road, winding at medium altitudes between the Isere valley and the Belledonne montain, from south of Grenoble to Allevard area.
First stop when having a good view over "Grand Colomb" (2400 m) and "Grande Lance de Domene" (2700 m). Still plenty of snow on these summits.

Belledonne montains are about 50 km long, with many peaks at 2500 to 2900 m.

We returned back to Grenoble area through Chartreuse Montains. 170 km of small winding roads over the day... A very nice day.

I was looking at the forum members list and it shows our old stats from the old forum under a "imp" user name. Is there a way to merge that information with our new accounts we created here?
Or am I just asking for a WAY too large of a headache?

When the CB 1100 appeared at the Japan market, some in Germany get very enthusiastic about this bike and pushed their dealership, to get this to Germany.

While Honda didn't ship them directly through the official channel, there came some so called grey imports to Germany, which where quiet expensive, about 15.000 Euros.

However, 2013 the CB 1100 A SC65 was officially introduced to the German market. It came with the combined ABS, silver engine and in 3 colors: red, white and black, price at about 11.000 Euros.

2014, additional to the standard an EX version was introduced and offered in parallel to the CB1100A. The difference was other brakes, larger fuel tank, 6th gear as overdrive, spoke wheels, stepped seat and
2 2-1 pipes, cost 1.000 Euro extra.

Expectations of selling were large at the dealership, but were not fulfilled. So 2014 there were still many 2013 models available at the stores, which dropped the prices. I got mine 2013 model in October 2014
for 8.600 Euros with 0 km at the odometer.

Now, end of 2014 and I think for 2015, both models, CB1100A and EX are still available, each in 3 colors. However, the engines are all silver, I have not seen black engines here.

End of 2013 there were 332 CB1100A registered overall in Germany.

About all I know about a 2013 is that this was the first year in Canada; it has a white tank with a stripe (color unknown); 5-speed tranny; four-into-one exhaust; chrome fenders, and aluminum wheels. Instruments and digital probably the same as the US model.The side covers and engine colors are unknown to me. I'm guessing, but I think the overall specs are very much like the US model in 2013.

I own a 2014 so can be of some help there: 3.86 US gal (14.6 L) gas tank in pearl Spencer blue with a silver stripe edged in black; black side covers with raised chrome lettering; ABS; four-into-one exhaust; 6 speed tranny; aluminum wheels with black center; aluminum engine side covers; engine black with cylinders and head dark matt grey; aluminum valve cover; speedo and tach; digital gear position, clock, odometer and gas gauge; 4-way flashers; headlight passing switch; chrome fenders.
