Posted by: rdprdp01 - 05-12-2025, 02:08 PM - Forum: Release Notes - Replies (6)

We can now easily add superscripts and subscripts to our text entries for Posts and Private Messages. Please see the last two right icons on the bottom row above where you type. Note the lime green designators. Sample entries that use superscripts and subscripts appear below:

X2 + y

Hope this helps with more complex posts.

Posted by: rdprdp01 - 05-12-2025, 02:02 PM - Forum: Release Notes - Replies (1)

Please be advised that you can now easily create a Table while composing a Private Message or Post. Please see the Table Icon on the row above where you type. It is the 3rd icon from the right.

If you select it, a table structure will be inserted into the message wherever the curses rests. You can specific the number of columns and rows you want your table to have. You can also create multiples tables. See examples below:

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
Value Value Value

2nd Table

Column 1 Column 2
Value Value

You can click in each cell to adjust the text and formatting.

Once the table is created, you cannot add additional columns or rows. Please plan your table design prior to inserting it into your message or post.

Any table can be deleted like all other content you post.

Take care,
David

Good afternoon,

If you had Threads and Posts on cb1100forum.com and used the same user name when you registered with cb1100forum.net, your prior Threads and Posts are now listed under the Member account you set up on this Forum. We wanted you to be able to have control over your prior contributions. We deleted the corresponding “XXX_imp” post account merge.

Have a great week.

  Tubes?
Posted by: Whoops - 05-12-2025, 09:25 AM - Forum: Parts For . . . - Replies (4)

I ordered new Angels for my EX, and understandably, pretty much everyone requires new tubes be installed when mounting new tires. So I ordered the Honda OEM tubes front (110/80-18) and rear (140/70-18).

However, the rear tire I ordered is a non-standard tire size at 160/60-18. Will the Honda OEM rear tube that is designed for a 140/80-18 work with a 160/60-18 tire? The parts guy at the dealership where I ordered the tubes said it will work just fine and will fill the space. However, I get the feeling he wasn’t as knowledgeable as he purported himself to be after he asked why I am going to put “the wrong tire size on the rear”, even after explaining how hard it is to find tires for this bike.

Should I be trying to find a tube with the same dimensions as the tire I am mounting?

  Front Fork Springs
Posted by: sprint - 05-12-2025, 08:49 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (1)

Has anybody used these front fork springs on a 2017 CB1100EX and found them to be softer and more compliant than the stock springs?

Importing a 2022 Honda CB1100 EX from Japan to Europe
Posted by: YellowNimbus - 05-10-2025, 05:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
For the past few months, I've had my eye on a specific model of the Honda CB1100 EX—unfortunately, it's a 2022 production model, which means it was only available in the Japanese domestic market.
The motorcycle I'm interested in:  CB1100EX 2022model Final Edition Engine start
I live in Kosovo, but fortunately, Albania, our neighbouring country, has access to the sea via the Port of Durrës, which opens up the possibility of sea freight from Japan. However, I have no prior experience with importing motorcycles, and I’m not sure how difficult, expensive, or bureaucratically complex this process might be.
I’d really appreciate any first-hand experiences, step-by-step guidance, or even general advice on:

  • How to import a motorcycle from Japan to Europe (ideally via Albania)
  • The customs procedures, paperwork, and homologation requirements
  • Any recommended freight forwarders or import agents
  • Estimated costs, taxes, and potential hidden fees
  • Whether it's better to ship directly to Albania or via another EU country
Ultimately, I’m trying to determine whether this is a realistic and cost-effective option, or if I should look for alternatives locally or within the EU.
Thanks so much for your time and any help you can provide!

Best regards,
YellowNimbus

  New Member from Kosovo
Posted by: YellowNimbus - 05-10-2025, 04:30 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (5)

Hello everyone, I'm YellowNimbus!
I'm a big fan of the Honda CB lineup. My love for motorcycles actually started about four years ago, all thanks to the iconic CB750 from the '70s. Ever since, I've dreamed of owning a vintage bike, but it’s been tough to make that happen.
I only discovered the Honda CB1100 (SC65/SC78) about a year ago, and I was immediately fascinated. It's everything I love about vintage design, but in a modern, reliable package. That combination really speaks to me.
I live in Kosovo, and as far as I know, no one here owns a CB1100 yet — so I’m hoping to be the first, with the help and knowledge of this awesome community. I’m here to learn everything I can about this motorcycle, and I’m looking forward to connecting with all of you!

Development Work In Progress / Outreach on the Internet
Posted by: rdprdp01 - 05-10-2025, 02:12 PM - Forum: Release Notes - No Replies

I hope you are having a great Saturday.

I believe we have managed to get a header which at least for the moment has received some love from the Members. Thanks for the patience, guidance, and suggestions. As always, I am open to alternatives as long as they fit the pixel dimensions published previously. If someone sends me something, I will post it and the Members will make the final decision.

I am thankful you leaned on me to get motorcycle pictures into the current design because it led to a motorcycle ride yesterday. You assuaged my Catholic sense of guilt for not focusing all my “spare” time on the Forum and actually taking some personal R&R on an incredible motorcycle. Much obliged.  Smile

Here is what we have queued on the Development Roadmap:

  • Enable email notifications for personal message notification and forwarding threats on the Forum (I am trying to find the balance between security and ease of use).
  • Enable easy table creation in posts.
  • Enable easy use of subscripts and superscripts in posts.
  • Merge imported data from cb1100forum.com Member accounts with cb110forum.net Member accounts (requires an “identical” Member name).
  • Review picture posting and determine if I should increase our posting limit (requires a more expensive hosting plan but opens up other options).
  • Enable Members to easily switch between light and dark mode on the Forum.

We have two heroes I must mention. Mostafa has been working with me on the design, use cases, and prototypes for new features. You are an incrdible developer and a very, very patient man as I make stuff up as I go! Thank you, Mostafa.

Cormanus remains on point: coaching, guiding, and making me laugh as he scolds me for working too hard and adds items to the list.  Smile He is a great leader and we are fortunate to have him moderating the Forum and keeping the crew together. Thank you, Cormanus. I am grateful beyond words.

I have included a few screen shots of work in progress.

I have also reached out to a few groups who formed their own CB1100 Forum / Community when the prior site became unstable. See a sample message I posted recently.

I have no social media presence. I do not have a Facebook, Instagram, X, or any other account. If I could trouble you to reach out to our friends who may have left the prior Forum and invite them to join us here, I would be grateful. With your help, I believe we are off to a great start. Let’s try to get everyone to come home.

Have a great weekend, David

  Front Fork spring rate?
Posted by: sprint - 05-09-2025, 12:23 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - No Replies

Can anybody advise the spring rate of the front fork springs on a 2017 on CB1100EX in Kg/mm, or alternate rate?
