Howdy members, I currently have my CB1100 EX listed for sale, but I am not sure how many members actually even look there. So, I thought I would put it out there for all to see. I have all the pictures and info on the 'Motorcycles for sale' page. I have lowered the price on Craigslist and Cycle trader to $9200, and it is easily worth it. It is immaculate and has about $1500 in add-ons. I will sale it to any Forum member for $9000 flat. This would be a great way to get a back-up bike. I have noticed some members are concerned with parts availability and how much longer will their bike last. Some of you guys have tons of miles on yours, and Honda does not make one of the greatest bikes they ever made anymore. If interested, just drop me a line and you could own another (or first) bike. Best way I can think of to make sure you will have one that will last for years to come.

Most owners of 2017 Cb already knows that the LED headlight performance is not up to par.

So I am thinking of replacing the headlight "glass" unit on my 2017 CB with a projector LED type.

I did a quick measurement and I am not 100% sure on the exact measurement of the "glass", it roughly measured between 6.5" to 7.0".

I did not remove the chrome bezel, so my measurement is not that accurate.

I am in process of analyzing the weird headlight wiring set-up (8-wires) and confirm where I can tap into the original harness.

Anyone knows the exact diameter of the headlight glass?

Any help is appreciated.

Does Honda recommend that any of the bolts that attach the camshaft holders be replaced when the cams are removed? How about the cam shaft drive sprocket attachment bolts?

While re-installing the battery back under the seat I noticed that the "seat lock" cable was halfway out of its original position and when I push it down, it clicked and lock itself into the correct position.
After a close up inspection, I understood that the cable came out of its seating clamp due to too much empty space above it. (hole/empty space is for inserting the cable).

When I moved the "seat lock" cable up/down, it came out of its normal position - should this happen when the seat is latch down and locked, It will be extremely difficult removing the seat.

To prevent future issue with the cable coming out of its original position, I inserted a short piece of rubber hose on top of the "seat lock" cable, push it all the way in and tape both items together.
By performing the modification, the "seat lock" cable will not come out of its position again.

The NE corner of Washington has always interested me.  This week it was time to stretch the CB's legs and head for Spokane.  I've visited Spokane once before, driven through a few times by car, but really wanted to explore the surrounding area.

I was all set to take camping gear and make this a big circular route, heading into Canada a bit, but then a friend who works with a hotel told me that he could get me a really great rate at a hotel at the Spokane airport...$45 a night.  Hmmm...lug camping gear around, look for spots, pack up each morning, or...


But it would change my plan and routes.  My body voted for the above and I decided I could live with various mini-circular routes around Spokane.

It's a relaxing feeling to know that you have a place lined up for the night, that you don't have to scurry around looking for a camp site.  It allowed me to stop and smell the roses, or rather visit a fruit stand


Santa María wasn't there, but Mario was.  He had the equivalent of Mexican country music blaring full blast, but lowered it so we could hear each other talk.  In a land full of apples and peaches...he had neither!  Only some nectarines and every other fruit imagineable.  I asked how much for two promising nectarines and he said no charge!  Then I saw the selection of papayas and they are my favorite fruit.  But we both looked at each other thinking, yeah, too big for motorcycle travel.  I told him where I was heading and he said "looks like there's room in your backpack"...so it was $5 for the papaya and nectarines.  Then he practically insisted that I accept a bottle of water--made me wonder if I was looking haggard as the afternoon was warming up.

I grew up in Kansas and the western half of the state has a fair amount of wheat, so I was feeling a bit nostalgic.  At the hotel, dropped my luggage and realized I didn't have to repack everything till Friday.  Spent the evening planning Day 2.

I'm David, from Spain, and i just bought this 2014 CB1100, and well, this is how it looks after removing a few parts I wasn’t too fond of, like a windscreen the previous owner had installed and the non-original mirrors...
I also fitted the Arrow exhaust, which gives it an amazing sound. That four-cylinder really roars...





I hope to learn a lot about the bike in this forum.

Hello all ye faithful CB1100 lovers. I believe that many of us plan to keep, and ride, their CB1100 for many years to come. Some, like me, plan to never sell their bike. I am concerned about future parts availability. Is there any requirement that manufacturers make new parts available for a certain length of time? I understand that aftermarket manufacturers tend to have new parts available for many years after a model is discontinued, but these are usually only for common replacement parts like air filters, and brake pads. There are many parts on our bikes than can only be purchased through an authorized Honda dealer, and I don't know what I will do in five, or 10 years from now, when I need a part for my bike that cannot be purchased through Honda. Should I be concerned? Should I stockpile a supply of parts (gaskets, seals, O-rings, brake pads, air filter, brake and clutch master cylinder rebuild kit, brake caliper rebuild kit) now just in case they are needed in the future, and are not available for purchase? Has anyone on this forum experienced any difficulties purchasing any OEM parts for their bike yet? Our bikes are fairly limited production, and I don't see Honda stockpiling a lot of parts to support us in the future. Your thoughts?
