I have reduced a photo for an avatar to 200x200 pixels, but cannot get it down to 25 Kb without it being almost invisible.
This is 157x200 pixels, 71 kb

  Tyre choice (UK)
Posted by: Davidjill - 08-01-2025, 05:07 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (2)

Okay, so the bike had original Dunlops on when I bought it last year, tyres were hard and aged, but not badly worn.
Changed to Bridgestone T32; however, the front has worn badly, and 12 months and 6,500 miles later, I need to replace it.

In the UK, these were all I could find for 18" wheels, price is for a pair without fitting, etc. All are stock Front 110/80 Rear 140/70 except Pirelli Angel GT where rear is 160/60

Bridgestone T31 £217.00
Metzler Z8 Interact £225.00
Dunlop  TT100 £227.00
Bridgestone T32 £244.00
Pirelli Sport Demon £251.00
Bridgestone BT 46 £257.00
Pirelli Angel GT £262.00
Dunlop  Arrowmax GT601 £270.02
Dunlop  Roadsmart III £280.00
Dunlop  Roadsmart IV £292.00
Dunlop  D205F Honda £302.00

Any thoughts, recommendations, dislikes, etc?

Thanks  Smile

My experience with the CB as an article in "Kradblatt"
Posted by: Wisedrum - 08-01-2025, 12:14 PM - Forum: CB1100 in the Media - Replies (8)

Last year I was asked by the German motorbike magazine "Kradblatt" to write a longtime review of my CB. I did and now the article is published in August 2025.

https://online.kradblatt.de/de/profiles/...es/page/10

The article is written in German. Maybe, if you like, you can use a translator. I'm glad that the CB gets some public perception.

Please be advised that we pushed our Alpha Release of the Enhanced Like Plugin to our Forum this morning. We believe the code is stable and consistent with the use case detailed below. Please find a few posts you enjoy and test out the Like Options!

If you encounter any problems, please document them on this Post so all Forum Members can be made aware. If you like what you see but have further suggestions for improvement, we welcome those too.

Enjoy your weekend. David

Platform Upgrade / Functional Enhancements to Like Plugin
Posted by: rdprdp01 - 07-29-2025, 12:34 PM - Forum: Release Notes - Replies (3)

Please be advised that MyBB recently discovered a security vulnerability that could enable a Bad Actor to take control of the Forum by executing a sophisticated attack via a Post. We installed MyBB 1.8.39 to mediate that risk. Details about that security risk can be found at the following link:

https://github.com/mybb/mybb/security/ad...-xwjx-37cp

A summary of all benefits for upgrading to MyBB 1.8.39 follow:

Key details:

  • Version: MyBB 1.8.39
  • Release Date: June 2, 2025
  • Type: Security and Maintenance Release
  • Security Fixes: Two vulnerabilities addressed
  • Other Fixes: 16 issues resolved

If you really want to get your geek on, details can be found here:

https://mybb.com/versions/1.8.39/

This update caused problems for the "Liked / Thank You" plugin. Although it was undetectable for end users, a constant stream of error messages were logged. In a few days, the error log file grew to 18 GB in size, which could eventually take down the Forum because it would exhaust all of the available storage if left unchecked.

Mostafa and I will update the "Liked / Thank You" plugin over the next 5-10 days to correct the errors. We will also expand the functionality to include other reactions than just "Like."

Please be advised that Cormanus was instrumental in helping identify the reactions most appropriate for our Forum. He researched other Motorcycle Forums, provided examples, and helped guide the development of the use case which appears below:

Updated Use Case for Like Plugin

End User opts to select an icon expressing a reaction:

  • Cool
  • Funny
  • Wow
  • Sad

End User can select only one reaction per post. End User can also add a textual reply but it will follow the standard posting protocol of MyBB.

We plan to build a "palette" you can use to hover over a reaction icon, see a textual display of what it represents, and then click the reaction you want to post:

See an example forwarded to me by Cormanus, which we will use as our model:

Right Crankcase Cover missing from service manual?
Posted by: bflint - 07-28-2025, 03:49 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

I can't find anything in the 2013/14 OEM CB1100/A/SA Service Manual that references how to remove (or install) the Right Crankcase Cover (next to the Clutch Cover).  All I can find is references to the timing hole plug that is screwed into the cover.  The other left side and right side aluminum covers all show pics on where the liquid gasket should be laid out on both the engine block and the cover.  Anything to do with the Right Crankcase cover and its' internally mounted ignition pulse generator seem to be MIA from the manual.  Thoughts?   OEM CB1100 Shop Manual
Posted by: pekingduck - 07-21-2025, 11:11 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (5)

Honda's factory shop/service manuals are printed by Helm, Inc., a company that specializes in service publications for decades.  I highly recommend them because the paper they use is oil resistant, rather than the cheaper copies from independent suppliers that are designed to absorb ink (and oil).

List price is $50, but with shipping, handling and tax, it's just under $100.  They go in and out of stock, but they just notified me today they are available.
Call them at 800-782-4356, or Honda Powersports CB1100 Shop/Service Information.
