The day after I purchased my 2017 CB1100EX, I began looking for a rear luggage rack and a top case. I assumed a few well-written Google queries and patience would result in a new OEM Top case I could purchase, Surely something was left in inventory somewhere in the United States, Europe, or Japan. Surprisingly, that was not the case, pun intended.

It appears that some mischievous engineer at Honda enjoyed tweaking rear luggage racks every month, making backward compatibility impossible. And from what I can tell, the 2017 CB1100EX had very few accessories manufactured because that model was a limited run. Honda clearly likes to turn its inventory relatively quickly, and they are simply not interested in keeping something in the warehouse in anticipation that I may buy something someday. 

As I looked at your posts and saw those beautiful top cases, I grew more resolute. 22 months into my search, I was able to purchase a used rear rack from Germany. Someone parted out a CB1100EX, and for once in my life, I actually paid a reasonable amount of money for a hard-to-source accessory. I documented that experience in this Thread:

I gave up on the Honda OEM Top Case. After two failed transactions with resellers that did not understand what they actually held in inventory, I decide to turn to one of my favorite suppliers: SW-Motech.  I purchased an Urban ABS Top Case:

Curb appeal is very important to everyone on this Forum. I believe this after-market case works well with the CB1100 aesthetic. Here are a few pictures for your review:









The Top Case has a great internal lining with a rubber insert that protects items you place inside it. In its standard configuration, it can hold 16L. When expanded, it can hold 29L.

hi name is joel and new to forum and new to a new 2017 honda cb1100ex;  smoothest bike i have ever owned;
trying to find a Honda OEM rear luggage carrier for it but all online sources show it is "discontinued"; also went to a local Honda dealer to order one 
but they ordered one for a 2014 which of course did not fit. Parts rep said good luck and sent me on my way.
Any members here have any ideas where i may find one?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a very well kept CB1100RS, but I noticed something unusual. There’s quite a lot of rust inside the fuel tank, especially around the top section and near what I believe is the breather hole/vent.

What I find strange is that the bike is absolutely pristine on the outside, yet the rust is concentrated only in this specific area.

My questions are:
How serious is this issue?
Is it something that can be repaired, or should I be thinking about replacing the tank altogether?

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

Free to good home:  mufflers removed from my CB1100.  They mount with only the front collars.  The aft bracket does not attach to the CB1100.  They are short and light enough that this works fine.  There is some discoloring, and the left one is dented on the bottom where the center stand contacted it.  They are pretty loud.  You'll need new bolts and nuts, as the ones I removed are very rusty.  You pay for USPS ground shipping.  PM me if interested.

Hello everyone, I recently bought a 2015 CB1100ex, it's been a dream of mine for a while for this particular motorcycle so I am very excited!  
I am new this bike and high cc riding in general so I've been reading a lot from this forum and the old forum as well to stack up the knowledge. I plan to ride this baby a lot so I'd love to share plenty of moments with you folks in the upcoming future.

May I kindly ask if anyone has the instrument cluster wiring diagram for the 2012 CB1100, five-speed, single exhaust version? I’m planning to modify my gauge cluster and would like to build a smaller custom instrument board myself. I would be truly grateful for any assistance from the community. Thank you very much.

Honda announced two versions, which they say are "production ready".    I was impressed with the look.  It looks like something that Freddie Spencer would be proud to throw a leg over.   The styling borrows heavily from the '82 CB900F.   What do you think?

I'm a new "old" member here, and I wanted to share something I just discovered that I thought some of you might appreciate.

I know motorcycle racing isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for those who enjoy it, MotoGP has just launched a new, free 24/7 streaming channel in the United States. It's a free, ad-supported service that offers live coverage of practice and qualifying sessions, as well as live Moto2 and Moto3 races. Allegedly is starting tomorrow 8/13!!

The catch is that they do not mention the actual MotoGP Sprint and Sunday races... but those are also available through other sport channels without a special package subscription.
