Last night on tv I saw the first advert saying E10 petrol was being introduced in England, 21/22. Noooo. I’ve just dug out the little Honda booklet and it does say the CB can use it (phew), albeit I will try to avoid it for as long as I can. I’ve seen some horrible footage of what it’s done to rubbers/hoses/carbs on older vehicles elsewhere around the world. Classic cars are going to struggle with this. To those who already have it, is it really that bad?

Searched the forum but couldn't find any comment on such devices.

A friend who will be making a trip to where theft is a know problem asked me about trackers, but my knowledge of the subject is quite shallow: there is (the best-known ?) GlobalStar/Spot device which operates entirely on their own hybrid (terrestrial+satellite) network, but is pricey, especially when the monthly service fee is factored in.

Other than Spot, there is a variety of devices, all of two distinct types: those that have built-in SIM card and operate in cooperation with selected, often regional mobile telephony company(ies), and devices where the user is providing the SIM card and the device communicates with the owner via SMS messages and/or SIM's data traffic. The former type always requires a service contract with the device vendor, the latter often (but not always) does nor. The type that works with owner provided SIM seems to be more likely to be operational world-wide (provided of course one can obtain local pre-paid SIM in the country visited). There are also some privacy concerns when a complete travel log is left in the service operator's possession.

Is my general understanding of the technology correct? Is there someone here that has practical experience with a particular device vendor/service operator he would be willing to share?

Is the IACV valve for models after 2017 (Honda code 16431-MGZ-D01) compatible for models before 2017 (16430-MFJ-D01)?
Unfortunately yesterday, with only 22 ° of temperature, it went out twice.

Love my 13' CB it doesn't have more then 2800 miles on it. The situation is that my girlfriend has moved an hour an forty/ 2 hours out of state. With Gas prices rising , Motorcycle MPG looks real good come spring. My current (very fortunate) predicament is that my uncle gave me his 2007 Bonneville over the summer with less than 5k on the clock so now I have 2 very similar styled bikes. I have been contemplating maybe parting ways with the CB and finding a used ST1300/Concours14/CTX1300 but was was wondering if maybe a nice big Windshield and a Corbin/lamm/Russel seat might be a good or even cheaper option.

I have always wanted to put a DLX tank on my bike.

I have not seen one in real life, but from pictures it appears to be more traditional looking, and a little extra range never hurts.

Seems the fuel pump is the same.

I was considering having it custom painted, but may just buy a factory tank.

I know the bike was available in many other countries and the paint options are several. Probably some I am unaware of....so can anyone post up what they know of?

New to the forum, I’ve previously built a CB1300x4 which was sold to a collector locally, he’s looking at purchasing a CB1100 that has been modified to look like a cafe racer from the 60s

It has tomaselli clips, motogadget speedo, Öhlins, 4 into two dunstal style exhaust system etc.

It’s running the standard switch gear.

I was asked to inspect the bike for purchase and with a view to under take further work, upon removing the seat cowl the level of workmanship appears to have fallen into the “out of sight out of mind” methodology

I found the circuit board wrapped in plastic film

Has anyone on here modified their bike and removed the instrument cluster? Is there anything within this circuit board that by removing it would stop the bike from running? Is this the only solution to the problem?

I’ve completed a w800, fuel injected bike and removed the instrument cluster without the need to keep any of the circuit board.

Any advice would be great

So due the current lockdown in the UK and not being able to ride I thought I'd take the opportunity to do a few mods to the bike to make it more adventure ready for later in the year.

I bought the bike in December as a standard bike in Red so the first thing I decided to do is respray the tank and front and rear fenders as I had the paint already and thought paint would be easier to clean than trying to keep chrome looking nice.

I then added the following:
Fehling rear rack and pannier rails
Givi outback panniers
Givi dolomiti top box and top rack
MRA VNB screen
Zieger crash bars
Ram ball mount with Tom Tom Rider
Honda heated grips
Yoshimura exhaust
Reworked and recovered seat

well, it's a stretch, but it is a motorcycle jacket being shipped, so here goes:

I have a 2013 CB1100. It hasn't been started for 3 months and when I started it today, I discovered a problem with shifting gears. When I shifted into 1st gear the bike started to creep ahead. I let out the clutch and the bike moved ahead. However, I could not shift it into 2nd gear. I road around in 1st gear for awhile and then stopped. I could not get it to shift into neutral. I shut the bike off and was then able to get it into neutral. I then started the bike again and shifted into 1st and it started to creep forward again. I let out the clutch and moved ahead. Again I could not shift into 2nd gear. After several tries I finally got it into 2nd gear. I rode around in 2nd but could not get it into 3rd.

My first thought is that the clutch master cylinder is not working and therefore the clutch is not releasing. It seems that the clutch lever does not have much resistance when I pull on it. Is it possible that the seals in the master cylinder are leaking? Is there a way to check this out?

I assume there is a slave cylinder down at the clutch. Is that correct? If so, I assume there could be a problem with it not releasing the clutch.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
