Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice here. I want to get a helmet communication device. I've got a couple of "wants" in my device: a) to talk to other riders, especially at events like the annual rallies; b) good sounding speakers to listen to music when I'm riding alone; c) ideally, to answer the phone or make calls when I'm on the bike; d) listen to my phone's GPS directions while I ride. I think that's about it. Oh, and I want it to be interoperable between other brands: Sena & Cardo, for example. And I'd like it to employ mesh networking technology.

So far, my research has me leaning to either a Sena 50S or a Cardo Packtalk bold. So, do any of you have real-world experience with either model and/or any advice to share? Thanks.

My back won't take a Cafe Racer stance anymore but this looks like a nice kit from a European supplier.

Just stumbled upon this 2 USB port charger that looks to sit into of our master brake cylinder. They also make them for a few other models.

Anyone use one of these? Can't find any reviews but i like the idea. Could be a good way to keep the GPS going and also a phone or camera in a tank bag

I have just discovered quite a deep scratch on my centre stand, probably caused by my boot having a piece of gravel in the tread when I put the stand down. I'd like to paint the scratch using the correct Honda black paint for a 2019 EX. Does anyone know the code for this frame paint. I don't want to use just any old black paint from a hardware store as I'm not sure whether it is a full gloss or satin type finish.

Hi all. Just been outside to check/adjust the chain on my CB. Now I dislike lying on my hands and knees as much as anyone so came up with an easy and quick fix. Try it see what you think.

I got an old chopstick then at the top using bright coloured tape wrapped it. Then measured a 35mm gap and wrapped in green again, then measured another 10mm in and wrapped in cream masking tape. So I have a Max 35mm gap and a min 25mm gap. See the photo to make sense.

Then using a kick about sloped half brick I had lay on my side to position the chopstick exactly where I want it next to the chain (tightest spot marked with a red dot). Moving the half brick back and forth will allow for any floor you happen to be on too to get the levels spot on next to the chain. Note you do need the block/brick to be sloped to allow you to raise and lower the height of your measuring stick (or chopstick in my case).

Then using your other hand simply press the chain up to check slack. You can be 100% confident it’s within min and Max just by looking at your chopstick. No need for faffing about with hard to read rulers or tape measures.

BTW I couldn’t take a photo of me pressing the chain up and holding the chopstick because I needed another hand.

You can MacGuyver your own obviously with whatever you have around.

I've got an '18 CB1100RS. I'm 6'2" with a 33 inseam and I'd like to unfold my legs a bit. I'm coming up empty so far finding a solution I like.
Here's my stock seat:



What I really want is a K&H high seat, but they only make those for the 14L and 17L tanks with seams. For the seamless tanks, [url=https://store.kandh.co.jp/products/list?category_id=56]they only offer a MID seat.
I've emailed K&H directly, but they have declined to make a custom order.

I've emailed Mr Takashi at Samurider, and he says I could get the Ohkawa Works seat custom made 1" taller. This option is fairly expensive and would take over 2 months to get here. Cost is about $1000 CAD.


I've found Luimoto here in Canada that [url=https://www.luimoto.com/?c=1&my=637&p=1208]make a nice looking cover for the 17+ seats. I was thinking possibly they could make a custom cover with extra length on the sides, and I could add foam myself, or have a local upholster do the job? Rough estimate of $500 CAD for the whole job, plus I sacrifice my stock seat.

I could have a local shop modify my stock seat. Unknown cost and time frame, also the potential to not be done as nice. Again, this becomes my only seat.

I could have Sargent Cycle custom make a seat. Unknown cost, likely a longer time frame due to shipping. I sacrifice my stock seat, but the end result is probably pretty nice.

Finally, I've been poking around Yahoo Japan auctions and found a bunch of second hand K&H seats, as well as Daytona, and OEM Honda seats.
I could buy a backup 17+ seat and use it as my base for a custom seat, which means no downtime. Cost for a RS seat is about $450 CAD shipped, which is about $100 cheaper than new at the dealer.

Or I could buy a used K&H high seat for the '13-'16 bikes and have it modified slightly to fit my bike. Cost for these seats is around $600 CAD shipped.

My question is, does anyone know where the seats differ?
If the older seats are longer in front, I can peel back the cover, trim them down as needed and fold the excess back under and secure it. If they're not, it's not such an easy task to add material.
Anyone know?

I've seen a few threads relating to swapping the newer tank onto the older bikes, but not many people mention what happens to the seat fitment during this project.

Fellow CB affectionado’s l have sold my sweet ride the 2013 cb1100. But my question involves what the width,rise and pull back is on the handlebars. I’am trying to replicate its ergonomics on a 2020 Triumph Speedmaster that has beach bars . They are 1 inch diameter,so if someone here has a suggestion on models,type etc. Thanks in advance.
