Ride up the Delaware - KiowaEagle_imp - 05-16-2021 I had put 150 miles on the CB Saturday so I took the VTX on a ride up the Delaware through the Delaware Water Gap and to Dingmans Ferry yesterday. I didn’t realize it at the time but I was only about 25 miles from Suhawk305. A few storm clouds threatening and could see some rain in the distance but all in all a good day weatherwise. Stopped at a favorite haunt across the bridge from Belvedere, NJ for fresh shad strips (the shad are running on the River) and a Riverton Hotel must have, daiquiris. There were some great roads on both sides of the river. Going to have to do this ride again. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Ride up the Delaware - PowerDubs_imp - 05-16-2021 You rode right past me, albeit about 20-25 minutes west. RE: Ride up the Delaware - suhawk305 - 05-17-2021 Next time, let me know and we can ride further upstream on NY Route 97. The upper Delaware River ride is beautiful which includes Hawks Nest. However, Summertime tubing vacationers and the fall leaf peepers will slow you down. Then 519 again from Belvidere down to Milford where we crossed back to PA. That 521 was a nice route! Nice road with little traffic. |
