Havnt attempted to get into the filter box yet , but externally this looks to be a different type of filter to what the earlier CB1100s have (round filter)
Can anyone advise please?

Although my CB1100 just stepped over 16000km (10k miles) it wasn't the real occasion. I just wanted to go for a ride. A few good riding buddies decided to tag along.
Morning weather wasn't promising, but in an amazing turn of events the humidity stayed high up in the sky and gave us great riding weather, temperature in mid-high 30s (°C)
Considering the fact that it wasn't humid we used the opportunity to ride the eastern costal road, and to visit a few nice places.
There is a small town in the northeast called Khorfakkan, used to be a Portuguese port in the colonial times, and then for a long time it was just a neglected little hard to reach cove cut off from the rest of the country.
In 2018 the ruler of Emirate of Sharjah decided to cut through the mountains and make a highway (85mph speed limit) to reconnect Khorfakkan with the rest of the country, giving us motorcyclists and amazing twisty road full of uphills and downhills, tunnels and hairpins. Shortly after that they started heavily investing in content that would attract tourists. So apart from the beach getting a full overhaul, they decided to restore much of Portuguese heritage, including the port, old fort, bunch of watch towers on the hill tops, and the last bit that we just discovered today for the first time, is what seems to be a old mountain village you can see on one of the pictures.
It is indeed a gem of the northeast coast. It's never boring to ride over there, especially not on a CB1100 with a bunch of good people![[Image: 6589c448e5c9647ba2f41eade2bf2134.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/6589c448e5c9647ba2f41eade2bf2134.jpg) ![[Image: f132cf125bcc8b91f6fd7c682f5288f9.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/f132cf125bcc8b91f6fd7c682f5288f9.jpg) ![[Image: b4005c8389558e3217d98cf4f8d07671.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/b4005c8389558e3217d98cf4f8d07671.jpg) ![[Image: d728e80da2b5c80e871b59187a47f3db.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/d728e80da2b5c80e871b59187a47f3db.jpg) ![[Image: ff2b8ce3226650925a920628662bafe7.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/ff2b8ce3226650925a920628662bafe7.jpg) ![[Image: 40c1fd26c70409f4c420cba8d8bc506a.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/40c1fd26c70409f4c420cba8d8bc506a.jpg) ![[Image: 18aaa029b088e5cea7dc68f1b72e5539.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/18aaa029b088e5cea7dc68f1b72e5539.jpg) ![[Image: f70785fc0012a852c8e4ab9fd53119cd.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/f70785fc0012a852c8e4ab9fd53119cd.jpg) ![[Image: 76e8c731a3277d8f6e3b52a0894ab3ca.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/202108/76e8c731a3277d8f6e3b52a0894ab3ca.jpg)

Looking for Advice about etiquette on Skyline Drive.

So, it looks like I'll have an opportunity to take Skyline Drive up to Luray before the rally in Ohio, but then I remembered....the Shenandoah valley is in VA...we all know about the draconian speed regulation in VA. I thought it might be nice to see Skyline but theres absolutely no way I'll be able to stand doing it all at a creeping crawling painful 35mph. My butt will fall off. So, I guess the question is, what is the *Acceptable* speed on Skyline? Do they have an understanding that not everybody is going to creep down that road or is it just like the rest of Virginia? Can I treat it like the BRP, where I know I can always be brisk-but-safe and not have to worry about Park rangers crucifying me?
If you have experience going up and down Skyline your advice is much appreciated. I'd sooner avoid it if I'm honestly stuck going that slow.

Waterless washing my CB

I just did my first waterless washing of my CB. I used Chemical Guys Ecosmart Hyper concentrate, three small microfibre towels, two buckets of clean water just to wash microfibre towels. I touched all parts but breaks. I did it on parking lot in front of my block of flats by a very clean way, no mess, no foam flowing on the pavement. It has been a very discreet way of cleaning the motorbike in the street without malignant glances of my neighbours. Generally it is forbidden in my city to wash a bike on a street, but this waterless way seems to be a solution for me to avoid that high pressure cleaning in car wash stations. Overall result has been more than satisfactory.

You really don’t know how old your tires will be when you order them from an online vendor, sight-unseen. Today I received a fresh set of PR4’s from Revzilla, both with a date code of 1621, which indicates they’re only about four months old. Good job!

Hey all,
I think the time has come to part with my beautiful 2017 EX. I would like to list it for sale on this website as it might be better for a forum member to purchase it from me.
I live in Houston now, moved from San Diego (bike was shipped here).
If there are classifieds available on the forum I'd appreciate it, if anyone is interested PM me!

3D Printed Parts

I recently used our 3D Printer at work to print out a couple of Spacer Blocks I modeled in SolidWorks to raise the height of my Handlebars to my desired height.
Worked great and blends in wit the triple tree well. I used the factory Damper Pads to maintain vibration absorption. The Pads did line up perfectly, until I tightened down the studs which caused the soft material to shrink/expand in some areas which shifted alignment. No biggie, not very noticeable and function is not effected.
Anybody else use 3D Printing technology to make parts for their bikes? Curious as to what other applications there are out there.
Enjoy!
