I backed my motorcycle out of the garage yesterday. Stopped it in the laneway, and turned it off while I put on my helmet. But when I tried to start it to leave it would not work. It took me a while to realize I had left it in 1st gear when I stopped. Felt rather dumb, but I have not ridden it in 2 years because of the pandemic, so I was not as familiar with the bike that I use to be.

Had a pleasant ride, and was surprised that I was comfortable during the whole ride.

Rolled the bike into the garage and turned it off. Tried to put it on its center stand, but despite my hefty weight I could not. Took a while to realize that I had left it in 1st gear again. Dumb! Put it in neutral and it rolled right up.[/size]

So can I have comments from those with experience on spoked rims please
- what 'tube' tires have you used and comments
- have you used a tubeless tire with a tube in it and if so make model etc and outcomes?
- any negatives from using a tubeless tire with a tube in it?

Apologies if this is a repeat , I have streamed through the subject on here but mostly it seems to be applicable to bikes with Alloy wheels and tubeless tires.

hoping to post some info that may be useful to someone. My 2013 had a broken RF turn signal when I bought it. I found that the signal for a vt1100 or vtx1800 is physically the same as mine but was half the price. the only difference is the vtx signal is a three wire instead of a two wire like the cb1100. I could have taken the time to change out the guts of the two signals but honestly its not worth the effort. the three wire works like it is and you can't tell the difference.

Hey guys gettin close to doin a valve adjustment (at least that’s my guess) hearing some noises near the valves. Figured may as well giver a look.

My drz currently runs 7.48mm shims does anyone know off the top of their head what the cb1100 dlx uses? And can someone explain what the different shims are, such as between 7.48, 7.5, 9s etc. not thickness but the diameter perhaps?

I'm getting ready to put my 2013 CB on the market and researching value. Is my bike an ABS bike? I'm a bit confused by this. I bought it as a non-ABS bike, but I see the ABS disc on the rear wheel, along with the ABS actuator. Connected to that is a line that travels forward to disappear in the bowels of the bike. There is no ABS disc on the front wheel.
Could someone explain this setup to me?

I've purchased a few OEM Honda parts lately, and been looking for the best prices. From what I've found, Carolina Cycle seem to have some pretty decent prices. Usually 10%-25% below the next best price I find. I've looked at all the usual suspects: Bike Bandit, Motosport, Cheep Cycle Parts and so on. Carolina Cycle seems to be the best prices.

BTW, I have no affiliation other than being a Customer, just thought I would share hoping somebody may benefit or better yet share a source with even better pricing.

Anybody have good luck anywhere else worth sharing?

The previous owner of my bike claims the original owner dropped the bike over in a gravel parking lot which scared him and convinced him to sell the bike to the owner previous to me. The LH Crankcase Cover was scratched pretty badly and the previous owner, figuring he was a beginner rider, would end up dropping it as well, so he didn't fix it.

Had a little time on my hands today, so I figured I would repair with a simple rattle-can paint job, and if I didn't like the way it turned out, I could either sand and start over, or simply drop a hundred bucks on a new Crankcase Cover and install it. Anyway, pretty happy with the results so far.

I'll wait a week or so, then wet sand and buff to eliminate any tiny imperfections like dust and Nat legs.

It was so humid today, I was actually surprised I got as much shine to the clear coat as I did, wasn't expecting it.

Over the years, I've had allot of luck with rattle-can repairs to paint. I've always found I have to wet sand and polish to get professional looking results. I've never been fortunate enough to have a really clean, humidity controlled environment to get the results I want without buffing.

Anyway, saved myself some money I can spend on more exciting things for the bike than a replacement, factory part.

I was riding my rs (still running in) yesterday a little quicker than usual and getting a better feel for it through some of my favourite bends and was trying to think what it reminded me of handling wise..
Its totally different to the 2015 ex I used to own with its more forward riding position and handling seems much better with the 120 front and 180 rear tyre.

Then in a moment of memory flash back inspired by looking down at the two clocks after a series of bends it came to me.

The RS reminds me of this XJR 1300 I used to own.

Is Honda 10w40 ok to run in the cb? Can I alternate between 10-30 and 10-40? Not mix.
