ABS - or not? - MrBob_imp - 08-29-2021
I'm getting ready to put my 2013 CB on the market and researching value. Is my bike an ABS bike? I'm a bit confused by this. I bought it as a non-ABS bike, but I see the ABS disc on the rear wheel, along with the ABS actuator. Connected to that is a line that travels forward to disappear in the bowels of the bike. There is no ABS disc on the front wheel.
Could someone explain this setup to me?

Only one way to find out.
1: find a long church parking lot with nobody there
2: apply throttle up to about 25mph
3: stomp on it.
4: wait for either that signature ABS rattle or a healthy squeal

An inmate on ADV informs me that it's the speedo sensor.

The slotted disc on the rear is for the speed sensor. If there is not one on the front there is no ABS on the bike.
And the 2013 ABS models have C-ABS (combined ABS) and have crossover hoses on the front wheel that go over the rear of the forks over the fender.
Also, ABS bikes have an ABS light on the dash.

If there is no cross over line on the front fender it has NO ABS , also 2013 has a 3 pot caliper in the front and not two .

Just understand MrBob, only the ‘13 ABS had the 3 pot. The ‘13 non-abs has 2.

MrBob, if your bike is a 2013 and the VIN starts with JH2SC655 it is the ABS model. If it starts JH2SC651, it isn’t.

If a yellow ABS light comes on the Speedo when you turn the ignition on it has ABS.
