I've heard about a cb900c which has been stored in a shed for many years and might be up for sale near me very soon.
I don't know much about these bikes only that they were made 1980-1982 and mainly for the American market and they are a very heavy cruiser type about 80bhp with a high and low range gear range meaning they have 10 gears. A right hand shaft drive is powered from a left hand chain drive so a transfer box is fitted to swop sides.

I'm hoping to view this bike soon and wondering if anyone here as any experience of these bikes ? Is it worth buying and what I should be looking out for etc.

For several years, just prior to buying a '14 CB1100 Standard, I was looking to buy a Kawasaki W650. I had three chances to buy a 2000 / 2001, but contacted the sellers just after they agreed on price to someone else, so I moved on.

After mulling over a nicely discounted 2020 W800 Cafe for several months now, I finally purchased one. $6000 plus 500 for freight, $636 for 4 years of DMV registration, and out the door for $7136 (OR has no sales tax).

I wasn't sure about the riding position, but I really wanted to try one of these at some point, and the blue '21 standard version was still over 9k, over 10 with the extras, and I just didn't want to go that steep. Plus they had 1 year free financing, so $550 a month for a year. Very do able.








Took a nice, relaxing rural route home and 60 miles of fun. Yes, I'm a bit too tall for the bike, will need to add a seat pad, maybe lower the pegs a bit...but I think the riding position pleasantly surprised me. Love the sound, not overly loud, but a bit more noticeable than that of the CB1100.

Does anyone have experience with the Givi AF49 Airflow Universal Windscreen on their CB1100? I'm having a hard time learning to live with the buffeting from the three windshields I've tried so far. The airflow looks like it might work.

Any info concerning actual experience with the givi will be appreciated.

Gentlemen. I had a discussion with my friends the other day (who are all sport bike riders) and they told me they cannot purchase an aftermarket ECU, or even have their stock ECU remapped legally if you live in California. One guy said he wanted to send his Yamaha R6 ECU out to be remapped and was told that they could not do it because he lived in California. California passed a law that it is illegal to replace your stock exhaust unless the replacement exhaust is EPA certified. Do we have any California members who have had a problem getting their ECU remapped? I'm not even sure if it's legal for a shop here to remap a customer's street legal bike.

Can't find my Honda Service Manual to answer this question. Too much clutter in the shop!

I don't see any adjustment nut on the brake lever. I have adjustable levers, but I need to tighten the clutch cable itself. With the clutch fully disengaged (lever pulled to the bars) I get a slight engine noise which I know to be the clutch slipping.

And, another question: Is the threaded rod attached to the shift pedal anything more than a fine-adjustment for the lever position itself?

I love my 2014. I almost bought a 2013 but I'm glad that I held out for the 2014 with its 6 speed transmission.

I also have an 09 Shadow Spirit which is kind of like Honda's take on a Sportster. I love both bikes, but the CB1100 is definitely the superior ride.

Being in the US, it looks like the 2017 ex is the only option for me. I would love it if Honda gave the US market one more shot at the CB1100 for it's final run.

The new CB1000 has also caught my eye, but that looks a lot more muscular, even though it's only ten more horsepower. Looks more like a sport bike. I really like the low key looks of the CB1100... However, if the new CB1000 came in blue or white, I'd probably have already bought one!

Just curious, anyone here own more than one CB1100?

I want to create my own CB1100RS. Can I put CBR600 rims and tires on? Would they bolt right up?

After seeing the Meteor up close at the Moto America this weekend I went by my local dealer to test ride one today.
I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the bike. I would say it rivals any new Honda or Kawasaki I've seen recently.

The engine has about 20 hp, and the instrument cluster worked well.
I did get a few false 1st gear engaged readings, at stop lights when it was still in nuetral

The heel and toe shifter is very awkwardly arranged. It was almost impossible to get my toe under to upshift, so I just used the rear pedal for 2-5.
The shocks and forks worked well, and the ride was nice and compliant.
This was a test bike with only 3 miles so I didn't push it too hard.

Overall i thought it would be a good bike for someone under 200 lbs and less than 5'11. I have a 30 inch inseam and would have to have the seat rebuilt to provide more run for me to move back just 1 inch for a perfect seating position. If you fit into that category this would be a fun bike to hop on and ride around 2 lane roads and stay under 60. It has a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty per the dealer.

Hi, I am a new 2014 CB1100 owner and am looking to improve front end suspension. Does anyone have experience with the Traction Dynamics AR-25 Axion Rod Kit?
