Reading through the phone mounting thread made me think of what I'd actually like to see on a built-in display along with the usual stuff like speed, tach, time, and mileage. I'd like a compass/barometer/altimeter enabled display or device. I'd like it in the car/truck too. Those items would be very useful. I do have a cheap compass mounted for navigation. I can't imagine looking down at a phone constantly. I've seen that cause a crash. I hope none of your are mounting anything on the tank.

Is it possible to retrofit a 2014 DLX dual exhaust system to a 2014 STD?
Would I be able to retain the center stand if this project were to materialize?

Not a grand revelation, I know. But Covid has changed many things, like it or not. And sitting down and looking at these last 18 months, and the way they made me feel, I realize there has been very little to enjoy, or to keep looking forward to .... with one exception, the time spend on my CB.

Pathetic ? May be, but that’s the way I see it these days.

For those of you who owned a Honda CB650 SC Nighthawk: any good or bad experience with it ?
riding, seat, vibrations, sound, quality of paint, corrosion issues, ...
Any information would be valuable, since I have been offered a real nice one.

I've been trying to get my new mirrors mounted for a few weeks, and the left/right struts I ordered from Dennis Kirk finally arrived. I wanted different mirrors 'cause, IMHO, the stock CB mirrors look like snail eyes, so I got some similar to CB500 mirrors, but not OEM. I was a bit dismayed in that their construction was not up to par, but, you get what you pay for, and I didn't pay for OEM. So, I get 'em mounted, and like the way they look, and eagerly try them out. Wouldn't you know, they vibrate like a vibrator, especially the left one, even at idle. Now I have to see if I can mitigate that vibration somehow via a rubber washer, somehow brace the strut, not sure. I may try the previous strut on the left side even though it's not black like the DK ones are. I'll post some pics when I get them sorted.

This isn't the original plan I had for the bike but after getting it and riding it, I decided to keep it basically stock....with some custom touches. The bike came with the rear Ohlin's and Racetech Gold Valves in the forks. Since I've never ridden a stock bike I can't compare the handling of the bike compared to a stocker but I'm sure impressed how this portly bike handles. Love the torquey motor too. It's such a satisfying, elemental motorcycle. Some of the other mod's include a Yosh slip-on, fork brace, Dart screen, custom rear cowl, LED lighting and assorted bling.

I have a 2014 CB1100. I bought it new with the standard Owners Manual.

It has been brought to my attention that some bikes were delivered with 2 Owners Manuals, a standard one and a supplemental.

Can any one here confirm this? Does anyone have the Supplemental Manual they will sell?

I am a paper hound and try to get all the paperwork that came with the bikes I keep.

Covid cases in the UAE dropped to 3 digits some time ago, and the government decided to cancel many of the restrictions that were in place for over a year now, one of those was to remove checkpoints at Abu Dhabi border and allow free transit. Obviously we seized the opportunity and rode to a place in the middle of the country called Al Ain, which is home to a very weird rock sticking out of the sand, that is Mount Hafeet. With approximately 4000ft height it's hardly the highest mountain anyone has ever seen, but as it is sticking out surrounded by the desert it's very prominent, and road to the top is an epic 11-ish km (7.3miles), proclaimed one of 10 best driving roads in the world by many publications. And I tend to agree.
For me it was a 500km ride to and fro, one would think a long ride for a 7 mile blast - trust me, it's worth it. And this was the first time I went there with the CB1100, and boy oh boy did I love it! It has got torque for days, pulls uphill so seamlessly without any need for a downshift, and it makes it steady and smooth, a dream really.

I thought I'd share a recent Blackstone report sheet. Maybe others would like to do the same on this thread.
I wanted to know how my oil change interval was looking and, while I've read other analysis reports validating the high quality of the motorcycle-specific Mobil 4T, I wanted to see how it was doing in my 4 cylinder beast. Read the report's comments, including the possible longer internal. This oil has been in there for about a year (3,700mi.) and the bike has seen some very high ambient temperatures (105-110F) this summer.
