finished "forward controls" today - Griz53_imp - 10-01-2022

I had posted before about my issue of needing a more forward control position to get my old legs in a more comfy position. I finished up today and very pleased with the outcome. On the right side I just fabbed a mount for the footpeg and found I could simply "heel" the brake pedal with no need to extend it. On the right I fabbed a forward peg mount and reconfigured a shift linkage to work with that. I used some old goldwing pegs and some shift linkage parts from a supplier. Ive not taken the old pegs off yet so u can see the difference. It came out about 8in forward and 3 in lower than the stock pegs and fits my old long legs much better

I could have used those on my ol' '14 CB1100.

Nice Griz.

Cool! Can you do one more photo from farther back to see the overall look?

Ill try to get one tomr
Honda musta thought younger more flexible guys would be into this bike, but I dont remember my 72 CB750 having as much "rear set" to the pegs ! To me the bike looks more "orginal" now

@Griz, don't need this yet at my chicken age (Wink) but who knows, knees can stiffen rapidly. So I am curious ...
I can see how you "fixed" the shift lever, but what solution did you find / apply to the rear brake lever ? If you just stretched it forward, it may have changed how the brake responds, no ?

Hate to burst the bubble, but I think your knees have been doing more changing than the peg position Smile

tommymck, that is a pair of lovely bikes. Or a lovely pair of bikes.

Was curious of the seating positions, and the pegs on the CB1100 are probably 2-3 inches further back than a CB750.
I notice it whenever I compare to my Triumph T100, which has a very comfortable peg location for me, and similar to a CB750.
Hard to believe just a couple inches can make such a difference.

Pekingduck, it also looks like there is less distance, seat to peg, on the 1100, but it may just be the pictures. I know my legs feel much less comfortable on this bike than they did on my GS1100. But the legs are much older now and the memory may be corrupted.
