Hi everyone,

I read powdertoastman's thread that included a picture of a red and blue cb1100. Love the blue! Does anyone know how to order a blue fuel tank? I have a 2013 bike bought in the US and wonder if I can plop a blue tank in place of my red tank.

Curious as to how it mounts and if it is as well made as the Honda rack.

So I'm giving thought to getting a CB11 DLX when they come out, and have a few questions:

~Cylinders--electroplated? Sleeve liners? I had a very negative experience with my '98 Honda VTR1000 Superhawk, and I don't trust electroplated cylinders. It's become common industry practice (Honda is one of the most heinous producers of dispos-a-bikes IMO) to electroplate limp, low-grade aluminum and bore the cylinders into the top half of the crankcase. IMO a distinct cylinder block with a ferrous sleeve or lining is a superior design, and it appears the CB11 has one.

~Valve actuation--shim-under-bucket? Locknut/screw? Other? I'd prefer shim-under-bucket. They're a PITA to adjust, but they're smoother, quieter, and more robust over the long-run.

~Two mufflers vs. One--I like the visual symmetry of the DLX's dual mufflers, but I generally believe the opinion that 4-into-1 is more efficient: provides better fuel economy and more power. But it's better to look good than to feel good, if you know what I'm saying....

Got more questions, but I'd probably better spoon them out in small doses. Many thanks in advance for any information & guidance.

Takashi wanted to share a picture of my bike with the folks over a Chic Design.

I removed the rear carrier/sissy bar and put on the OEM seat to show the Chic Design fenders on a more standard bike.

Unfortunately I'm still snowed in so I couldn't find a decent spot to take a good picture.

I like the more standard look and may keep the bike that way until late Spring when my lovely wife will want to go riding.

What do you think?

Installed this new Puig last night and did an 80 mile ride today. Works perfect for me and my short stature. No buffeting and the wind blast is off my chest. I'm ready for some touring now.

This thread was initially posted to talk about how much I like the BT45's with the 150/70 rear. I still do, but there was a concern I had regarding tire clearance.

This seems to be resolved and I can't determine that there is any lack of clearance. Marks on the tire were apparently from some other cause.

The combination works very well, I like the handling better with the beefier rear tire with more available sidewall. Overall gearing also goes up a little, so your fuel mileage will improve a little over the stock tire. Acceleration doesn't seem to be affected noticeably.

As with anything, departure from stock can cause anomalies. The rest of this thread explains the situation.

I managed a 200 km ride on Tuesday, north and west to a country town called Kilkivan. Nothing important happens there; it was somewhere to go and I was interested in the ride home via Widgee where I'd not been. It was a much more enjoyable bike trip through there to Gympie than the more northerly route I took to get there.

For Australian readers, or students of modern Australian politics, Kilkivan is on the way to Kingaroy, home the infamous Johannes Bjelke Petersen long-term Premier of Queensland.

As discussed in other threads, it is very, very dry out this way. We need rain. Even riding a clean bike with a camera hanging Ferret-like around my neck didn't do the trick.
