The sides of my tank were picking up some scuff marks and I remembered that a guy on the FZ1 forum was making pads. Sent him an email and he said if I'd send him a pattern he make some up. He sent me some drawings of the result with my nickname and the Honda wing. I picked the wing and like the result.

Looking over the information on Honda's website for the 2014 CB1100 models, it struck me that some of these changes could potentially impact current CB1100 owners as well.

For example, if Honda modified the center stand on the Deluxe model to accommodate the dual exhaust configuration, then perhaps this stand could be used on the older CBs to accommodate a number of aftermarket exhaust options that many were interested in, but weren't willing to give up their center stands .

In addition, those interested in creating a hybrid look would more than likely be able to use the new EX/DLX side panels on their 1st gen bikes. Same probably goes for the seat, turn signals and tank.

It will be interesting to see what people come up with as this year progresses.

I have to admit I have a touch of CB1100 fever, I want one of the 2014 DLX models in a bad way. The reality of where I am moving involves some dirt and gravel roads. My house is about 4 miles from pavement.

I believe ANY motorcycle can be ridden on dirt roads with care. Certainly some are more suitable than others.

Any of you guys deal with dirt and/or gravel roads with any frequency? If so have you made any modifications to improve the CB1100 in that arena?

I KNOW there are better options out there, so please don't tell me what motorcycle I would be better off with in regards to dirt roads.

The deluxe model looks fantastic even if the wheels aren't spoked. A .5 gallon larger tank! The standard has chrome fenders and the black looks gloss! Woo Hoo!

I thought I read somewhere about taking the diffuser out of the Yoshi muffler. Can anyone tell me where the diffuser is at? How to take it out? (If desired)

I've had a hankering for a big Japanese muscle bike. Every year on my trip to the TT I drool over The sheer number and desirability of Suzuki 1300, Yamaha 1400 and Honda 1300 cc retro nakeds. Only one ever sold here is the Kawi ZRX, so I took the plunge and added one to the stable. Just arrived yesterday, perfectly timed with the single best day of winter (also benefitted the Super Bowl!)

It's a 2005 ZRX1200, good shape with some nice mods including a full Muzzy exhaust. 125+ bhp. 30 miles or so of careful scratching yesterday indicates it will be fun come spring, and a nice compliment to it's more upscale and refined cousin, the CB1100.

I was wondering why there seemed to be so little activity on the forum. Then, it occurred to me.........there's some sort of ball game today! It's quite odd really, that grown men play with balls. But, to make it even more ridiculous..........millions watch!!!

I almost dropped my baby yesterday. Lost rear traction for a split second. Cold tires, wet conditions, and a manhole cover that I didn't even notice until watching the video.

Here are a few pics from the SF bay area ride today. For some unknown reason we didn't take any pre-ride pics, so we stopped part way up Mt. Hamilton at the Cal Fire station and snapped a few.

VJ had to split due to fatherly duties calling (I.E. the wife said "get home now"..lol) so we had 4 down to the Junction where we ate lunch. Then we headed down into Livermore and gassed up. Paul split from there but we 3 needed some services that the gas station attendant said they didn't have so we scoped out a local McD's and took care of our issues and then headed for our respective homes.
