With Bike Week just around the corner, I was looking over some old pics I took there at the "200" back in 1974. I rode down that morning on my R/75, took in some of the local color in town (like the "well lit" Harley) and spent the rest of the day at the track. Agostini won if I remember correctly.

Can any of you guys tell me if chrome, spoke (old fashioned) wheels will be available for the new 2014 standard model? I know it won't be an official option. Perhaps there are such wheels available for the 2013. (?) If so, is there any info on price? I'm planning on buying a new 2014 standard but I need spoke wheels to match my sidecar. Has it been released if the new Deluxe model will come with spoke wheels? My only other option would be to use the stock wheels and have them powder-coated as bright as possible but it wouldn't look as good. Thanks!

I swapped out rear fenders this afternoon.

It was a very simple job: Remove the seat and tool holder compartment. Find and unplug the white connector for the rear light. Then remove the 4 bolts holding the fender.

The Chic Design rear comes with a plug and play connector making install a "snap".

I'm usually not one to pay extra for personalized plates, but when I realized that my initials are the same as the Roman numeral for 1100, I had to order this plate. If you spot this plate on the road this summer, don't hesitate to flag me down.

Anyone have strong feelings as to whether the CB1100 is a particularly good or bad choice as a first (returning after many years) motorcycle? I don't want too much bike, nor do I want something I'll be outgrowing during year one. The CB1100 sure looks like exactly what I am going to want when I get my skills back.

As a follow on to the earlier discussion on what helmets people wear, I've come across a couple of web sites that provide independent testing of helmets. One in the UK, the other in Australia, both run by government. I can't find a similar site in the USA; if there is one, I'd be interested.
