Today, after many years out of the saddle, I picked up my 2014 EX from my local dealer.

Today I woke up to heavy rain, which cleared to blue skies and fluffy clouds before I set off.

Today I didn't need the waterproofs I had bought in anticipation of the end of our heat wave which coincided with my pickup date.

Today I added 75 miles to the 250 already on the trip counter.

Today I didn't drop or ding her, despite my inept skills, the efforts of various cars, dawdling foreign car drivers, and a homicidal caravan towing van driver.

Today, my wife tells,me the bike looks 'really nice' and is almost tempted to throw her leg over.

Today ended with an excellent curry from our local takeaway and (several) glasses of red wine.

Hard to see how tomorrow could better this...but I'll try....

Cal Crutchlow will get the chance to ride first class equipment next year. LCR Honda has announced his joining the team for 2015. Cal's luck has not been good since leaving Tech3 Yamaha and joining factory Ducati.

Here is pic of my retro fit sissy bar and rack. I purchased it new on eBay. $59 dollars free shipping. I am pleased with it but I think I will have the side plates re chromed this winter.

I wonder how accurate the trip computer is for calculating miles per gallon? If mine can be believed, I got 51.6 on my first tank. That's wayyyy better than I ever expected. My old Shadow 750 was getting 64mpg consistently. Never thought I'd see 50's from the cb!

I am really really liking this motorcycle. Smooth as silk. What a Time Machine.

These are the German made Vario foot pegs. I have these on all 4 of my bikes and all adjusted the same.
Earlier I had used different ones bought on ebay but they did not feel strong enough to me .
I have the 23 mm arms on them , also 30 mm arms available and many different pegs also in silver and black. (Twisted Trottle)
I cut the tab of the side stand so my boot will not touch it.
They can be adjusted up/down/rear wards and forwards in 8 positions.
Very good for people with big feet.

Cycle world came today. In back is ad for Corbin seats with color matched seat for your 9T tnat looks pretty cool.

In search of improving the small but present low throttle (lean ?) surge and better sound, economically, I have done the following mods.
1) added a 1.3 k ohm resistor in the IAT Sensor circuit.
2) blocked the pair valve air supply hose
3) installed an O2 Bypass resistor plug
4) drilled 25mm ( 1" ) holes into the baffles in the muffler at both
ends. The 'Walls' you see at both ends looking into the or inlet,
offset a bit inside.
Results are seat of the pants, no dynos nearby and not that anal about this.
Better throttle response, even down to below 2000 rpm in top( 5th)
gear. throttle stumble,hesitation or whatever between 2500 and 3000 rpm is 99 % cured.
engine is more responsive to throttle inputs and 'eager' to accelerate.
Mld to moderate sound increase at idle and hearable to about 40 mph when helmet noise blocks it out. The sound is like stock, only louder, not a deep rumble or loud bark like an after market exhaust.
Mileage appears to have increased about 2 MPG. 48 mpg on freeway, expressway keeping up with the faster traffic and 52 MPG,spirited riding on secondary roads. Just my results after a 338 mile day test ride.
If 2 semi mechanically skilled owners PM me their mailing addresses I will mail them a home made sensor resistor kit to install and try for their own evaluation. Locate IAT sensor plug under left side cover, unwrap tape, cut and strip one wire and screw resistor/ posilock assy on to wire ends. I will include pics.

If anyone has a photo of a Puig windscreen mounted on their CB1100 please post and list any positives and negatives. Thanks.

I put the new mirrors on tonight, and like them much better than stock. I will throw up pics of the new mirrors tomorrow.

I think I'm done now! Installed black side covers today and boxed up the original silver ones. My other mods are a Dart Flyscreen, Chrome gage covers, turn signals, a Tiros KO seat, and a staintune muffler. The only other thing that I would like to do would be wire spoked wheels... But those are a little pricey! So I think I have made this one mine for good...
BTW I gathered much inspiration from this forum and seeing all of your bikes and the mods that were done. Big thanks to everyone here in this community of CB riders!
