Wow, I'm ready to buy and I'm getting a good price for a new 2014 DLX. Only problem is my bank will not give me a loan because they need the NADA value to verify the price. NADA does not have the 2014 listed only the 2013. Evan KBB did not list the 2014 on it's website. This is crazy. The bank even called NADA and they said Honda has not provided the information yet.

Do you believe it is August already? For many if us we are down to less than 90 days of riding this year, some about 60 days left.

I can't complain, I've ridden the wheels off my motorcycles this year, but dang the year is 2/3 over

I would like to have the springs on the oem shocks removed so I can have them painted. Do you know of any companies that will do this? I researched spring compression tools and it looks too dangerous to mess with in my opinion.

Granted, it's for a '13 instead of a '14 DLX. But the dealer had used service manual sale and I picked it up for $15. We're on vacation at a lake in Indiana and I just popped into the local Honda dealer just to shoot the breeze and there was this table of marked-down stuff. Pretty cool.

I will be careful. I know some stuff is different like some torque values as The Ferret has mentioned. But it's good to have a detailed resource to check against to see how stuff is put together and so forth.

Met forum member dUh over in Indianapolis and he showed me a good way to get into the track for the MotoGP race on the 10th hopefully avoiding traffic and construction. 315 miles round trip on the freeway and it was 59 degrees when I took off so the ST call the call for me. Rick was waiting for me when I pulled into the meeting spot.

dUh and his ultra cool 13 CB 1100.. notice fairing, side covers and cool 4 into 2 titanium Moriwaki pipes that sounded too good.

I was surprised that the Indy car racers has disc brakes in 1959 since we didn't get them on street bikes until 1968. Long time for that technology to trickle down I thought.

At one point I am pointing out some Rube Goldberg looking steering set up on a French racing trike and said something like "wonder what engineer came up with that?" Then I said "oops, hope you're not an engineer". There was a moment of dead silence from Rick. I could hear crickets chirping it was so quiet. I thought "uh oh". Then I said "what DO you do for a living?" and he said "I'm a mechanical Engineer" aarrgghghh open mouth insert foot Mickey!. We had a good laugh about it and found out he works for a company that does a lot of engineering business for the company my wife works for. Small world.

Then Rick led me back out of Indy and pointed me in the direction home. By mid afternoon it had climbed to 84 degrees and it was a beautiful ride back to Cincinnati.

We had a great time, Rick is a fun guy, laughs easily, smiles a lot, easy to get along with. I invited him over to ride the curves in Ohio/N Ky. Hope he takes me up on it.

At 8500 miles, my Dunlop front tire has ~2mm depth on center line, can last for 1.5K miles but I feel I want to change now because during very hard acceleration on twisty road it loose traction.

The original Dumlop D205 is not as available, so i set my eyes on the Bridgestone tire. I assume I can put tire of different brand on the CB?

I like the Dunlop tires and people say Bridgestone BT-45 is better???

Wondering if anybody has been able to ride both the CB1100 and compare it to the new Honda CB500F or CB500X?

F riding position is close to the CB1100 (per Cycle-Ergo.com), the X caught my eye since it is more upright, slightly larger seeming although all three 500's (including the R version) use the same frame, engine, etc.

The prices are so reasonable I started to think about adding an X alongside the CB1100.
