  oil leak - opinions please

Bought the bike 2 months ago and have about 2.5K on the odometer. Is this something I need to get fixed ASAP or (as long as it doesn't get any worse) can it wait until the end of the riding season? And will this impact compression? -A

  Got in first crash recently.

Hey all, first I'll start out with that I'm doing ok, just some sore shoulder and hips. Was cut off and couldn't stop in time and dumped on the side.

Glad I had all my gear on, I've seen some threads about not wearing gear when just around town, I was just getting gas locally and put my gear on even though it was 85 outside and boy am I happy.

Secondly I'm wondering about the eventual repair of the bike. Damage was limited to engine case on left side and my windscreen I just bought from samurider.

Thoughts on how to repair the engine? Just repaint and leave the scratched damage? Replace that side piece cover? Is that a big job? What is the paint code for the black engine.?

G'day all. I know some members go to the Speed Week so this is not good news.

  Chain adjustment

Any ideas on how to measure and adjust chain slack when there is no mainstand? Had to remove the mainstand when the Wyvern's went on.

Engine dies when I put in 1st gear (yes, clutch is engaged)
Posted by: 13cb1100_imp - 07-28-2015, 07:24 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (30)

Frustrated! Hope someone has an idea...

Bought a new 2013 CB1100, now have 375 miles on it. Bike was dealer showroom for almost 2 years. Everything stock.

Start bike...starts instantly after sitting all day at my work, outside. Pull clutch in, put in 1st gear, engine dies. Many times I've done this, put in neutral, re-start engine, pull in clutch, 1st gear, dies. However, once I turn the key off, wait a minute, try again, it works fine.

If this was a neutral safety switch, I'd think the bike would not start, or not recognize its in neutral when starting. However, it seems the clutch does not engage...like I'm putting it in gear w/o the clutch. Yes, i adjusted the knob on the clutch lever but did not matter. My search here yielded nothing.

This has happened twice, 2 days in a row...both times after riding to work, sitting 8 hours (both me and the bike...hehe!), then starting it for ride home (15 miles each way).

Ideas? I'm stumped. Dodgy

Corbin seat - backrest for driver?
Posted by: 4 Paws_imp - 07-28-2015, 06:34 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (2)

I'm ready to replace the seat on my CB, used Corbin in the past and am "comfortable" with their product.
Always ride solo - wife has her own bike.
Will the backrest for the Corbin seat that fits the CB1100 work only in the passenger position or is there a slot to mount it for the drivers use?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UEI...9989417011

amazon has a special pricing on a 1 year subscription to MCN (Motorcycle Consumer News) for $5. it is usually $20

i have subscribed to this magazine in the past and highly recommend it, especially for only $5.
