Are the dual mufflers on the DLX the same size as the single muffler on the CB1100 Standard? Are they different in any way?

Well, my little sweet 1100 passed her 1100 mile mark on Tuesday. I was so proud. She was screaming with joy going about 105 around a country turn in Alaska. I parked her in the shop, gave her a smack on the tush and called it a night. The next day I tore my common flexor tendon in my elbow. Full arm immobilization for 6 months. What a sad day.

Looking for a seat replacement for cb. I have read corbin, laam and russell. Looking for the best option for two riders on the bike. Any feedback is welcome on the best option.

Just wondering if any other members are experiencing corrosion on the front ABS ring or rear shock mounts?

I got some Rox Risers (2"), but the front brake line is too short to let me adjust them properly. Has anyone found a supplier for longer brake lines?

I've noticed after I fill the tank that the engine revs high when I first start the engine. My bike has always done this and it has never been a problem and it only lasts for a couple of seconds. Has anyone had a similar problem.

Unfortunately, the gorgeous saddle on my CB Deluxe makes my bottom feel like I am sitting on a hot charcoal grill after an hour.
Does anyone have experience with Laam saddles? I am in the market for a saddle that is more supportive, wider, and taller than stock to give my knees a bit more room. Laam saddles look very stylish, are custom made like a Russell for less money. I sat on a CB with a Corbin this past weekend. It was really firm and I would have liked it to be at least another inch taller.

Russell saddles are very highly rated and I am sure they would make me happy. I could put one on my GS, but I just can't put something that ugly on my CB that will ruin the lines of the bike.

I am also picking up a local friend's Airhawk seat cushion to try it out for a couple of days.

As much as I love my CB1100 DLX, I can never see a day without riding it. However, I am getting older, and wonder if, or when, I cannot physically ride it. I had the idea of, if/when the time comes, converting my CB to a Trike so I can continue riding.

Harley-Davidson "baggers" and Gold Wings are very popular around here converted to "Trikes" or additional "outrigger wheels". They are popular with the older riders because of the stability and balancing safety of the big, heavy bikes.

What do y'all think about a three-wheel CB1100 "Trike"?

I recently purchased a 2014 black CB1100 standard. I've been pondering what basic accessories I'd like to purchase in order to make my rides more enjoyable. The first item on my list is a rear carrier rack. I will not be mounting a topcase - this will be used primarily with a tail bag which I already have.

By searching this forum, I think I've seen most of what is available for my bike. While most of them are very nice, I have pretty much narrowed it down to the black Endurance rack with passenger grab rails.

I've been checking online sources for this item and trying to compare prices. It seems like http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/endur.../10004072/ has a good price, but I cannot figure out the shipping cost to Virginia, USA.

Can anyone help me with this and/or recommend a good alternative source?

last Thursday I took my CB for a day to the race track. It was a whole day free practice event at Anneau du Rhin, France. I were there with a group of my Beemer friends. Our group and participation was organized by myself.

The CB1100 is definitely not the first motorcycle, which comes to your mind, when you want to go to a race track. But then, I was really curious about how the CB1100 performs, especially compared to my old BMW K1100RS (R.I.P.), which I took to the track once a year the last 4 years.

However, goal was not, to compete, but to become acquainted to this motorcycle at the limits.

Because of bad ground clearance you can't lean very much in curves. Speed of my K in curves was higher, more room to lean. I put the suspension to the hardest point front and rear. However, it's not for sport, but for comfort.

I removed the feelers from the pegs already some time ago. Then I figured out, that the alu pegs would get eaten up from the road really fast and I mounted very short feelers from another Honda model. I brought them easily to the ground. The heads of the feelers were already gone after that one day on the track.

However, the chassis of the CB was very stable in the curves, felt better than my K. The chassis says 'give me more', while the pegs say 'no more please'.

Every round at the back straight I reached the speed limit. Then braking down heavily before the next curve made the fork instable. I guess, a fork stabilizer could help. However, I think, it's not necessary for usage outside the track.

The breaks are better than those of my (20 year old) K. Compared to my friends on the older Ks, I could brake later and harder before the curves and temporize some time. However, in competition to my friends I couldn't keep up in curve speed and acceleration, driven only by 90 hp. Also I couldn't compensate this handicap by better riding capabilities.

Anyway, that day with a CB1100 on a race track was really fun! Now I know some more, what I can expect of my motorcycle and I got some training and confidence for extreme situations, if they should happen there out in the wild traffic. I did this training not, to be able to race in traffic, but to figure out the limits, to have some buffer, when I was in hot water at the road.
