So on one of the posts about seats on the CB a few weeks ago somebody had linked this sight http://motoskiveez.com/ and asked if anyone had bought a pair. I read a few reviews on the underwear and so I ordered a pair of the adventure style. Tonight was the first time I have ridden on my Deluxe since ordering and receiving them. I am pretty impressed as I rode about 100 miles tonight and it was the most comfortable ride for me yet on my bike. 59.00 is not cheap for underwear but certainly cheaper than a new seat and they are priced like bicycle shorts.

I'm putting together a little emergency kit for the bike together. I always have extra fuses, some tools and extra headlight and taillight bulbs.

But I never have had a tire kit, so I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them. I searched and didn't see any threads on this.

Any advice on some good ones?

Despite being a hardcore BMW (x17) and Honda (x10) fan during the past 30 years, I have always admired Moto Guzzi's, even once owning a Bassa for a few months before flipping it to it's happy new owner. Over the past couple of years, I have lusted over the new California Tourer and Custom. I never took this fanciful lust seriously, as I always thought that new Guzzis, with their $18,000 prices, were too expensive to seriously consider, and the nearest dealer was two hours away.
Recently during a extra long lunch break, I stopped by the local Triumph/Vespa dealer to kill some time and discovered that they now carry MG's! They had huge sales on almost every model including a $3,000 discount on the California tourer. For fun, I started to read reviews online and look at prices. It turns out that many MG dealers are offering enormous discounts on many models. I found one dealer on the west coast selling leftover Grisos for $8,999, California Customs for $9,999 and California Tourers for $12,999! That's up to a $5,500 discount!
Why do I go online and torture myself like this?! I love my current stable, but dang! These rock bottom prices are so tempting!

I love it when odd things happen with numbers.

Today we achieved the first registration from Belgium taking us to 17 countries represented in the registry.

We also achieved 300 US registrations—and here's the odd thing—with 200 2013 models and 100 2014 models.

Who'd have thought we'd luck out with such round numbers?

Finally Last Blast is on the road again (cue Willie Nelson). Initially I changed the [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6149&pid=95932#pid95932]sprockets and chain. Then what began as a simple tyre and front pad change became complicated when the front brake, after I reinstalled the front wheel, was a little spongy. I suspected a contaminated caliper piston seal. So off with the front calipers for a strip down and inspection. Two of the pistons did have slight scratches and I suspect that the right side lower piston seal was contaminated, probably by grit getting past the dust seal. It was difficult to remove and had a horizontal scratch past the oil seal. In any case, something had to be done. First I cleaned and then measured the pistons and calipers and found all to be in round and well within tolerances. I gently rubbed the scratches out of the pistons with jewellers grade wet and dry, ensuring I was keeping them in round and not making flat spots. I couldn't bring myself to change the pistons, the bush mechanic in me wouldn't let me. I ordered new seals (dust, oil and connecting) and caliper mounting bolts. It took time but finally they did get to me. I also stripped the front master cylinder down and found it to be all good.

Assembly was straight forward and I put new Dot 4 fluid into the system. I don't have a vacuum bleeder and didn't feel like forking out the hundred or so dollars for one. I started the bleed by attaching a good length of tube to the bleed nipples and vacuum bled by simply sucking on the tube. Of course, being careful not to ingest or swallow. It worked, priming the system and getting rid of most of the air. I then finished the bleed in the conventional manner, with a spanner, tube and bottle.

So with new tyres, sprockets, chain and brake pads I rode south from Sydney through the Royal National Park to Garie Beach. With new pads (sintered) and tyres I took it easy through the twisties and pulled up at Garie to admire the view and check that all was in order. About 60kms down and no leaking brake fluid, chain master link looking good, chain slack as set and all the bolts still tight. My initial impressions of the Pirellis was positive but as yet I hadn't gone near the edges. They are, however, a different tyre to the previous Michelin RP3s. Not better, or worse, but definitely different. How? Hard to say so more on that later when I have put some hard miles on them.








A perfect winter day; 20deg C, clear sky and nil wind. Beautiful day for a ride. After spending twenty minutes or so soaking up the sun I rode back up to the RNP and on to Stanwell Tops. I always take photo here, can't stop myself.



So enough of the view and back down into the park. With the tyres starting to scrub in I put some more pressure on them in the corners and was starting to get near the edges by the time I reached Audley Weir for a coffee.



Audley is either peaceful and nearly deserted or jammed full of day trippers. Today was peaceful.



Within the hour I was back home and very happy with the work I had done. The tyres are good, but the bike has been transformed by the sprocket and chain replacement. Quiet transmission and no lash making for a "as new" ride. Smooth and quiet, really smooth and quiet. The difference was startling.

I'm watching the Indy MotoGP and I'm amazed at how empty the grandstands are. How can they make any money with so few spectators?

Ordered my Corbin seat and have a month of butt pain before it arrives. I got the grabby vinyl on the sides for more thigh support and longer life and leather on top... both black. I did get red welt and red Corbin logo and left the pockets for a backrest in the order in the event I ever want to sell the seat. The backrests can be popular. I did get the stitching left off ala Chip Beck and was told it voided my cover warranty by customer rep Danielle. I asked her how others have done it and didn't get warranty voided and she told me they were voided... such as Chip Beck who has been super helpful in my purchase. As I understand it, the stitching is needed to help keep the cover on the foam beneath. Odd since many of the other gunfighter and lady seats do not have this stitching but I am stoked that I pulled the trigger. Will make riding a lot more comfy.
