Laam Saddle anyone? - EGAlvarez_imp - 08-05-2015 Unfortunately, the gorgeous saddle on my CB Deluxe makes my bottom feel like I am sitting on a hot charcoal grill after an hour. Does anyone have experience with Laam saddles? I am in the market for a saddle that is more supportive, wider, and taller than stock to give my knees a bit more room. Laam saddles look very stylish, are custom made like a Russell for less money. I sat on a CB with a Corbin this past weekend. It was really firm and I would have liked it to be at least another inch taller. http://laamseats.com/ Russell saddles are very highly rated and I am sure they would make me happy. I could put one on my GS, but I just can't put something that ugly on my CB that will ruin the lines of the bike. http://www.day-long.com/gallery_Honda.html I am also picking up a local friend's Airhawk seat cushion to try it out for a couple of days. RE: Laam Saddle anyone? - CIP57_imp - 08-05-2015 EG, Seth made a seat for me in 2013, definitely the most comfortable seat I've ever owned He's a one-man show I would probably wait until the off-season to have it done. PM me if you have any questions RE: Laam Saddle anyone? - EGAlvarez_imp - 08-05-2015 Was the saddle you had made for a CB? Any pictures you could share? Everything I have read about Mr. Lamm is very positive, excellent customer service is frequently noted. The Russell seat shown on that link for the CB1100 looks like their full blown "Daylong" version. They do make a narrower Sportbike version with less pronounced wings. I had them make one of the Sportbike seats for my CBF1000 and it had to be the most comfortable seat I ever had, WHILE riding. However, even with the less pronounced wings, the seat was not so comfortable when you came to a stop and needed to put one or both legs down. Then you had to slide forward on the saddle as much as possible so the wings didn't dig into your legs. You do tend to get used to that with time, and the looks as well. RE: Laam Saddle anyone? - EGAlvarez_imp - 08-05-2015 On the way home, I stopped by a friend's house and borrowed his AirHawk R seat cushion. I could tell during my 5 minute ride home that this thing REALLY works! I am looking forward to a 2-3 hour ride to see what happens; Nonetheless, I will probably still go with a new aftermarket saddle. http://www.airhawk.net/airhawk-r.aspx RE: Laam Saddle anyone? - kennyw - 08-05-2015 I had an Air Hawk seat for a week and ended up returning it. I either felt like I was sitting on a beach ball or I was back down on the stock seat. It made cornering feel like I was disconnected from the bike. RE: Laam Saddle anyone? - Cormanus - 08-05-2015 Love my AirHawk. |
