I know a lot of you have used Samurider to purchase parts, but I have contacted them several times on their web page and have not ever received a response. I don't want to be surprised by shipping costs so I am trying to get them to answer how much it would be to ship a part to where I live. I put in all my info., part info., etc., hit SUBMIT and they never reply.
Are they really legit or is this a hit or miss company and should I look elsewhere?

The weather turned so nice this afternoon I decided to ride to Baxley, GA and visit some of my former co-workers at the AT&T office. Reaching Baxley, I stopped for gas. Ready to leave, turned the key, watched all the lights come on and the clock needles sweep and then...nothing, all the lights go out and the bike has no electrical power. Turned the key to off and tried again and still nothing, no relay clicks. Pulled the seat and pulled the fuses, all were fine. A multimeter was borrowed and battery has over 13 volts. Rechecked the fuses with the multimeter and all check good. Called Sparkey to ask for the trailer and a tow home. Got home just before dark and will investigate this problem tomorrow.

Any ideas on where to start will be valued as I know there are some very smart folks on this forum.

Hi thought I would share this with you, I've got a 2014 1100. Came to use it today but would not start, hit the starter button - nothing at all. Checked kill switch, that was in the right position, sprayed the starter button with electrical cleaner. Still nothing. Now I last used the bike approx six weeks ago, it ran fine then and it has just sat in the garage. Battery is fully charged.

I then checked the battery terminals - all clean and tight. I lifted all the fuses and replaced them - and bingo hit the starter button and she fired.

So the problem would seem to have been related to the fuses, I presume one must have lifted out of its fittings.

Is there any write-up on this? My Over Racing mufflers came in today and I want to tackle it this weekend. I'm assuming it's relatively straightforward but I've never done it. The instructions that come with the slip-ons simply say to consult the service manual, which I don't have yet.

A beautiful day in Sydney, 23degC and clear sky, so I checked the oil and tyres, lit the fires, and climbed aboard Last Blast for a run around the "Putty Loop". Clockwise this time.



In previous posts I have described, in part or whole, the Putty Loop. It is a favourite of mine, providing a nice scenic cruise or a motorcycling challenge, or a combination of both, depending on one's mood. The complete Loop from my house in East Sydney takes about seven hours including fuel and food stops; a distance of just over 400kms. I wanted to push it along a bit to blow the cobwebs from the Staintune. Two fuel stops and lunch at the Grey Gum Café on the Putty Road was the plan. My intention was no photo stops and no GoPro. It was forecast to be warm in the Broke area (Upper Hunter Valley), about 32degC (89degF). Rather than full leathers I wore kevlar jeans and a Dainese leather jacket. My first fuel stop was at Colo Heights, then I pushed on to the Grey Gum for lunch. The Grey Gum sits, isolated, at around midway on the Putty Road, a mecca for motorcyclists and other travellers. From the road a short dirt track leads to the Café. The proprietor has laid down concrete strips for motorcycle parking.

The observant will have noticed that my burger is garnished with one of Australia's iconic bush foods. Good protein, and crunchy.

I headed north from the Grey Gum, giving the Angel GTs a good workout through the (in)famous "ten mile". I must take my GoPro there in the near future. It is the highlight of the Putty Road. Just before the Cockfighters Tavern (another infamous feature of the Putty, but for different reasons) I turned eastwards and into the Broke wine region. It was here that my "no photo stop policy" went the way of a politician's promise. Hence the title of this thread.



Due to recent heavy rain the grass verge is soft and using the side stand, without a pad, is out of the question. I just rolled it back on to a sinking centre stand and when the time came just powered it off.



Not only vines and roses, also olives:



No more photo stops, just a great run down the Wollombi Rd, coffee at the Road Warriors Café at Mt White and then a good lay it over blast up the Old Pacific Highway to Berowra. Then on to home through the Sydney afternoon peak hour traffic, that being the only fly in the ointment of a beaut days ride.

I know we all have different tastes and that's what makes the CB1100 so wonderful. You can do anything or nothing at all with it. I have a vision. It's getting closer, but not quite there yet. Any thoughts on these two front fender options ? The WM short fender picture doesn't really do it justice. I'm really leaning towards that one. The black hakofugu front fender can be installed two ways. I didn't like the first, hence mine kinda looks backwards now.

I also have the WM aluminum cowl, which will be installed and either a custom paint job or black / brushed aluminum look, which keeps growing on me.


Thoughts. ?? Opinions ?? I'll end up doing my own thing, but y'all might have a thought that hasn't crossed my mind.

This is just about the most beautiful thing I've ever seen with two wheels.
The problem is, I gave up on sportbikes just a couple of years ago because I'm not comfortable folding myself up onto them any more.
But, ohhh mama, do I like this bike...
...hence my crisis.
