  ST1300 has a coolant leak :-(
Posted by: TINK_imp - 02-15-2016, 02:46 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (17)

My ultra reliable 2009 ST1300 has developed a coolant leak at the thermostat junction. Most likely a loose hose clamp. Looking forward to an all day job of pulling off the plastic and the radiator to gain access. Fun stuff... Not really. Undecided

Latest farkle - brake/clutch reservoir covers

Picked these up on eBay. They are overlays and screw right on top of the factory ones with slightly longer screws. I wanted them to pop more so I put some black tape underneath.

  Moto Guzzi V9 Anyone?
Posted by: Obliviontoad - 02-15-2016, 12:41 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (6)

Just got back from the local Auto Show which always manages to fit a small motorcycle dealer display in the basement. There I checked out the new Triumph Street Twin, and declared it glorious and on my to do list once my finances are in order.

However, I was cruising the Moto Guzzi site, and saw the new V9 which has been on the back of my mind since the Ducati Scrambler came out. So, I present to you [url=http://v9.motoguzzi.com/en/]The Moto Guzzi V9

Be sure to download the accessory catalogue pdf and its imperfectly translated descriptions. Heck, at least they get a catalogue of accessories.

I guess they are headed to the US, the American site has info on them. The site I linked was the international one. Much more fun, and with videos to watch.

Enjoy!

Anyone planning on painting your 1100?
Posted by: Mike546_imp - 02-15-2016, 09:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

I've been looking around and it seems like you can get the old school honda look without spending $5,000 on a CB750 look alike kit from japan. I've been looking online and there are some great paint schemes out there. I wonder what the cost would be to get one of these paint jobs done?
This is my favorite.

I know some here enjoy mountains and motorcycles and this is a shot I took in 2010 when a buddy and I took a group tour of the Canadian Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and Alberta.

  Touring Bike Quest
Posted by: Chapomis_imp - 02-14-2016, 04:39 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (16)

In my recent quest for a touring bike I have gone from the CTX to ST to FJR, etc etc to just adding a full shield and boxes to my CB. Yes, the CB is a very versatile bike and there are a lot of fine examples of it set up for touring here, but I think it looks best IMHO.....the way I have it now. So, the last stop in my quest was at my local BMW dealer. I went there with the intention of just looking at the F800 thingy and seeing how that felt and ended up putting a deposit on a R1200RT (ouch). The question I keep putting to myself is, where does this put the CB in my life ? I don't expect anyone to answer that question, just pondering keeping or selling. I think if someone really wanted a really pretty DLX with only 800 miles, I might consider selling, but not at the used prices I am seeing lately.
