I couldn't stand that little oil weep anymore. So I went by my local Honda shop last Monday & they ordered a gasket for me under warranty. Took it in yesterday - met the mechanic who's been at it for 25 years, great guy. He used a better sealant than the factory does. It's black & they've used on many bikes & had no complaints or returns. When I got the bike back I was pleasantly surprised to find no smudge marks or grease anywhere on the bike. Looked as good as when I brought it in. If the rain lets up tomorrow I'll be off for a hard ride just to test it for no weep.

Hello everyone, I believe this is my first post. I have been lurking this site since I bought my 2014 Standard last summer and have learned a lot from you gents. I'm really loving this bike, but I have a different problem with my stock seat. I'm about 5'10" and 180 lbs, so very average. When I sit on my bike, the stock seat and position of the pegs forces my pelvis to the rear. The seat is wide and forces my hips apart. I have pain sometimes immediately in the top outside of my hips, right in the joint. A friend/fellow biker jumped on my bike and experienced this immediately, so it's not just me. The pain is intense, somewhat like a muscle cramp and does not go away until I can stand up and stretch it out. If I scoot back on my seat, it's not as bad, but then I'm sitting on top of the transition area of the seat between the operator and the passenger, which isn't comfortable either. I bought the bike with lowered pegs, so that's been addressed. I've looked at aftermarket seats and think I want a "bread loaf" retro-style seat like the samurider Whitehouse K10, or the Daytona Cozy which would allow me to scoot back without hitting the edge of the "bucket". I'm hoping this style of seat will be taller and narrower at the top and not force my hips apart so much. This is really my only complaint about this bike and fixing this problem will allow me to really enjoy riding it more without being so cautious about seating position, because once the pain hits, it does not go away until I stretch it out. Any advice would be appreciated. I've seen some "bread loaf" seats on some of the bikes in pictures on this site (especially like the one BeardyWeirdy@me.com has on his), so I know others have them.....do they work? I really don't care about how soft or plush they are as I don't suffer from a sensitive posterior.

And I emphasize Local. I have never been to this show before and I was in the area, so I gave it a look. I thought that all the newer bikes would be well represented, but 70% were used bikes and 80% of those were Harley's. Here are some of the bike that got my attention.

This is my 1967 BSA single cylinder 441cc Victor Roadster. It was also restored from the ground up in 2000 and looks and runs as well today as it did then.
These were retirement projects for me and now I get to ride them.

.....strictly because I can't ride. More specifically, I can't get out of my driveway....it's 500 yards long and cut on the north slope of a forested hill, goes uphill, and even an inch of snow, even after plowing, sticks around for weeks cuz it never sees the sun. When it does melt it just turns to ice when the sun goes down....a perfect motorcycle prison.


I need to get a trailer to tow the thing up the hill or move....

Been on the bike once in 7 weeks....driving me crazy!!!!

Just saw these on the Ohlins website (they're available in the USA too for an MSRP of $1550). Looks like we finally get CB-specific piggybacks for our bikes. I know people have use others ones in the past, but still cool to see these which don't need a bushing swap, and are designed specifically for our bikes.

I rode the new Triumph Street Twin today. I was very impressed by it.

Good suspension feedback, smooth progressive ABS brakes, good power with lots of low end torque. Overall a well balanced bike. Similar, but different to my CB1100.

My only comment was that I personally thought the exhaust sound was a bit agressive, which most buyers will like, but I thought it would get old fast and annoying on longer rides.
