I don't know how to explain this. I commute for 45 miles or so, lately 40 degrees in the morning. I park it for the day and get on to ride home and the front brake feels strange, kind of tighter than it should. Once I pull it in and let go it goes back to normal. Has anyone else experienced anything like that?

When I turn my rear wheel by hand I have to grip the tire and turn with some effort and there is a slight sound of both pads in contact with the disk. How do I know the drag is ok or what too much drag is outside of knowing there is something wrong should it be very hard to turn the wheel?

Or, can a few of you try it with your bikes and let me know if it spins very easy or if there is some slight drag?

Has anyone tried to change a tyre themselves with levers? I've got spoked wheels on my CB and therefore have tubes in the tyres and this makes punctures more of a problem. I do carry some foam sealant designed to go into the tube but this is less reliable than the normal plugging of a tubeless tyre and I was considering carrying levers when I go touring but this is pointless if a roadside repair is not practical. Anyone any experience of tyre removal at the side of the road?

This was a few weeks ago but I thought I'd share these pics. Rode from Moorpark, Ca to Ojai Valley and ended up at Neptunes Net and finally the Rock Store in Malibu. Weather was fantastic!

Just a little interesting side note about those motorcyclist statues behind us. Back in 1928 there was a major dam failure in the Ojai Valley. Those guys were motor-cops that were racing around the town warning people. They surely saved many lives, although tragically many were still lost.

Corbin has a nice seat, but the seat alone is almost $400 and the back rest another ~$200. Yowsa.

Do you think it would be possible to take a universal sissy bar/backrest and modify it to fit the CB? I plan to do more rides with my girlfriend and she said she would be more comfortable with a backrest, and I don't blame her.

I usually ride with my Chic solo seat when I'm on my own, but was thinking maybe I could fab something with the stock seat.

Yesterday's mail brought a letter from American Suzuki notifying Pamela that her 2012 DL650 has a recall to check undue wear on the camshafts and "tappets". DL650's from 2012 to 2014 are suspect. Bikes with less than 2500 miles will have camshafts and "tappets" replaced and those with greater mileage will get a valve check and camshaft inspection, any parts replaced and all labor paid by Suzuki. This is interesting as I was recently going over the procedure for valve inspection on this bike and it is a real PITA. I had already decided that I was not in the mood for DIY on this so, in some way, the recall is a blessing. Free valve clearance check.

This is my ride from San Jose up to the Lick observatory on 2-8-2016. The first bit is still in town. If you want to skip that go to about 13:35 and then I get to the twisties.

Just took a little ride today in the hills and took some pictures. I have video from the ride, but that is compiling right now and will be a while before I can get it put together and uploaded to youtube.

Looks like Revzilla may be bought out by Cycle Gear. Always had a huge respect for Revzilla and their business practices (even moreso now that I realize they built a half-billion dollar business around them) and hope this doesn't mean the end for their excellent customer service.
