SO: Here's the deal:
In late May thru early June, I'm going to drive my daily driver around the country. Mostly, I'm going to do this because my wife can't take vacation until December, and I need to burn the hours. I'm taking the daily driver around because it keeps miles off of both of my '15 vehicles at the house. (Challenger R/T+ and Silverado).
However, everywhere I stop, I'm going to be riding the new kid...my '14 CB1100E (what's the E stand for anyway? Excellent?). When I get to Milwaukee, pull the bike off the trailer, putter around. Rapid City, SD, off the trailer. Seattle, off the trailer...etc, etc, you get the idea.
Now, I'm going to be building the trailer for this. I've already purchased the rail, and I'm buying a little Harbor Freight 1190 lb capacity 40.5"x48" single-axle trailer to put it on. My wife works at a fabrication shop, and since I've done some work for them in the past, they're going to make me a ramp to go up to the rail, gussets for the rear end to shore up the back (even though the rail is relatively stout), and decking for either side of the rail.
OK, before anyone gets on my case...I've had a lot of luck with the Harbor Freight trailers. I've had three of them, and each one I've modified and sold or given away. They've done very well, and all 3 of them are still in service.
My tow vehicle (let the laughing start) is an HHR LT. Towing capacity is 1000lbs, max capacity is 1800, so I'm in good shape as long as I don't gain 400 lbs before I go. Tongue weight, 100 lbs.
Herein comes the problem...I need to figure out weight distribution over the single axle so I can have ~65lbs on the tongue.
In a perfect world, the 540lbs of the CB1100 is 270 front tire, 270 rear tire...but that's not always the case...so my question to you folks out there in the world is, do you know what the weight distribution is front/rear? That way I can start getting on my CAD drawing for the trailer. TIA, and I REALLY appreciate it.
Total cost for the trailer when it's done will be a bit south of $400, which is nice. I may even put some cargo on it for gear/luggage (centered over the axle, of course). I'll get pics as soon as it's ready.
BONUS! Picture of new, less than 50 miles on it bike.

Middle of winter; snow and ice everywhere and plenty of time to dream about CB100 stuff. Can't decide on getting front end upgrade (spings, valve emulators,) or my ECM re-flashed. I've already installed Ikon rear shocks and Arrow muffler. Let the voting begin.

I have searched every which way I can think of, so it will probably be something very simple.
Question is, will the engine guards from Honda, #08P70-MGC-N20, work on 2013 bikes?
Honda doesn't have them listed for 2013's, so if anyone can confirm they will work on 2013 bikes, I would appreciate it.

"No. No, I can not."
That is my simple, sometimes terse, reply to the oft-stated assumption, "You own your own business; you can take off whenever you want to." The reality is that I have family, clients, staff, who count on me to be at work. Besides, I like what I do. Insurance is not a glamorous profession, but I get to help people with my knowledge and guidance. Not bad.
Running my own show, while not allowing me to just disappear, does allow me a little flexibility in my schedule. The forecast for Februaury 1 in Chicago was for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 45F. It rained the night before so the roads were a bit icy in the morning, but when I saw that the forecast was coming to fruition, the streets were drying out, and my immediate obligations to work were minimal, I made the executive decision to tell my staff "You guys keep working hard, I'm going for a ride. See ya." Well, actually I told them that I had an appointment at 2:00 and that I wouldn't make it back to the office by 5:00. I figured that was better than explaining that I have to ride in February in order to get to 24 consecutive riding months, that the weekend forecast looks bad for riding, that I'm going to be out of town the following weekend, blah, blah.
Got home, geared up, and on the bike by 2:30 (which, by the way, is the perfect time for a dental appointment). I rode a loop which I have described here many times--along the Skokie Lagoons, east to the Lake, north on Sheridan Rd. to IL176, west to St. Mary's Rd., and then back south toward home.
All the curvy sections of road, of which there are few, are shaded or low-lying and were still wet when I rode them. Slowly. I stopped at a few places to look out at Lake Michigan which is a different kind of beautiful in the winter months.
The return trip was not especially fun since the Monday evening rush hour had begun, but it was still better than being at work. Got home 62 miles later, 24 riding months completed, and with a core body temp slightly below 98.6. My "appointment" was very productive and, as it turned out, I had a real work appointment for dinner, so was able to punctuate the day with a martini and a prime rib sandwich. Not bad.
Sometimes, you just have to get a grip on your workday.

What a difference 7 months make.

The weather here in the south has turned out to be great for this time of year. Recently I have been commuting about 62 miles round trip to work. So with the nice weather I decided to head on down the road to work on the bike. Not that the trip is all that exciting, but it does offer a change from the interstate. Funny how you feel while riding, the difference between two bikes and how they make you feel. First day of good weather I road the VFR, and yesterday I took the CB. I had more fun on the CB vs. the VFR. Maybe because it was a little warmer, or maybe it was because I had some Sammy Hagar playing while riding the CB. Guess it really doesn't matter. On the way home I spotted a CB1100F and 900F pulled off along the road and decided to stop and have a chat. Ended up being a guy I knew from one of the local MC shops. Well, might not be the best story, but I just happy as all get out about getting to ride at this time of year without freezing the boys. See ya at the Rally.
