  SW-Motech Pannier Racks
Posted by: Nightengale_imp - 04-19-2018, 07:04 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

I'm considering putting saddle bags on my 2014, and found some SW-Motech racks. But the pictures are pretty poor, so I can't tell how far out these racks make the bags (I'll find some black hard bags to mount).

Anybody else try these yet? How did they fit and how far out do they push the bags from the sides?

  Happy Days are here again!!

I couldn't wait any longer and got my CB and Ulysses out of storage today. Normally I would wait for a few more rain storms to clean the salt off the roads but they look fairly good right now.

Both bikes fired up right away so I took each for a short ride. I was apprehensive at first but the back pain wasn't too bad, I took it easy and only did 30km on the Ulysses and 20km on the CB and that was about all I could handle anyway.

Riding the bikes back to back like that certainly highlighted the short comings in the CB's suspension so I'll have to get the new stuff installed before doing much riding.

It felt so good to be back on a bike, it was a little cold (just above freezing) but my HD FXRG gear makes short work of the cold. I swear that gear is good enough for snowmobiling.

My goal is to get out every day and work up to the long ride to the rally.

  inflation

have been looking around and can't find any good advice about this. I'd like to have a sensible way to keep my CB's tires inflated, without having to visit or trust the service station. What kind of 110v inflator or air compressor do people use in their home garages for this, ideally also for auto tires? not interested in foot pumps or portable devices. thanks for any experience you can share.

They say patience is a virtue

I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery on Saturday of my new leftover 2014 CB1100. The extended forecast doesn't look good for many opportunities to take it out for it's first spin. I guess I can use the time to put the adjustable foot pegs and Airhawk on it and perhaps a coating of wax and polish.

Come on spring!

  Influx of 2014’s
Posted by: Buff7mm_imp - 04-18-2018, 09:29 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

I’m trying to grasp where all these brand new 2014’s are coming from, was Honda just setting on these just waiting for the right moment to reduce the prices and flood the market with new older model year bikes. I’m just trying to figure out Honda’s thinking.

  Has anyone heard from use2b?
Posted by: Banned_imp - 04-17-2018, 11:53 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (1)

I realized that I haven't seen any posts from use2b lately and he always seemed to be here quite regularly.

I seem to remember reading about some health problems he was having at one point, I hope everything is alright.

  Vario Footpeg replacement mounting bolts
Posted by: Ojiisan_imp - 04-17-2018, 10:35 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (2)

Hey everyone. Would anybody here know where I can get STEEL replacement bolts for the Vario footpegs, or at least what size, pitch, etc. they are? Both of mine have stripped out the Hex hole, and I will need to drill them out and replace, but I would like to purchase the new ones before hand.

Thanks in advance : )

  CB1100 good for Touring?!
Posted by: iamlegend21087_imp - 04-17-2018, 07:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (80)

Hi All!
New to the forum. I am in the process of shopping for a new bike and not exactly sure what I'll land on. I currently ride a 2009 Versys 650 with bags and other farkles. Love my bike but looking to change it up. On my short list of bikes are the Versys 1000, Concours` 14 or the totally opposite end of the spectrum is the CB1100. Every time I see the cb1100 I love it. My question to those with windshields, how comfortable are you on the highway? I know the seat is nice and flat but do the available windshields provide enough comfort for 2-3ish hour stints on the highway? I don't do any crazy mile eating, so I'm thinking it might be possible to be happy with the CB1100 if I do want to load it up and go camping several hours away. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

5 or 6 speed? Gear indicator?
Posted by: PAULIBIKER_imp - 04-16-2018, 11:09 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

Been looking at 13’s and 14’s. Do they all have 5 speeds and a gear indicator? Leaning towards a black 14 but there is a low mile 13 close to me pretty cheap. Thanks
