I believe it was a '13 (4 into 1, silver side panels) though it could have been a '17 with a pipe. He was coming off Squaw Pass Rd onto NB Evergreen Parkway at 6:00 PM today. I was in my car or I would have given chase. Anyone here?

Finally got to take it for a test ride, I was a bit nervous after some of the negative comments concerning the seat. Butt no need....it is wonderful. I did order it with a half inch extra padding in it. First time I just wanted to keep going after riding for an hour. Love it....I should add that I thought it may look out of place on a retro bike, but it doesn't. Not to me anyway. I think it enhances the looks.

.....to a 6th grader 50 years ago. In 1968 I was 12 years old and I had a Briggs & Stratton 3hp mini bike that I loved UNTIL I saw Honda's first Mini Trail. I've never wanted anything so intensely. Tacked the brochure up on my bedroom wall. But they cost $250 which might have well have been $100,000. I didn't have it and my parents weren't buying in to my desire. Two years later I was bigger and finally got a Trail 70. But I've never quite gotten over that yellow and white 1968 Z50.

When my son was 5 years old I bought him a 1996 Z50 but it was quite different from that 1968. I wish I'd kept that bike too. Anyway, I finally found and purchased a 1968 yellow/white Mini Trail and over the next few months that 50 year old little bike will be restored to brand new. I'll never ride it. But it will finally get that monkey (bike) off of my back!! I'll go in my living room next to the 1973 Husqvarna 250WR. Below is a photo of a '68 Z50 like the one I just bought. Cheers!

Just had my 2017 RS gone through some surgery on the "breathing system". Full titanium header from Moto Gears and the mufler is from BMS. Quite nice and quiet at low RPM but sound awsome from 3000RPM and above. The header is CAT free, super light and colorful.

Will arrange to have it dynoed soon. First impression was very good response from 3000rpm, pull pretty strong, feel very excited to open the throttle, i love how it accelerates now

The clip quality is not so good, please put on your headphone. Sound with silencer on, w/o the silencer, it's a real monster but a lot of popping sound though.

Assateague Island National Seashore that is. Wasn't all that far of a ride. I put about 120 miles on it today, 372 miles total so far. Really liking the Seat Time sub forum so I thought I'd share my day here.

I headed south into Maryland thru Bishopville and continued south on Saint Martins Neck Rd. towards the Isle of Wight. Real pretty road and just a fun road to ride. Jumped on Rt.90 west to Ocean Pines and Rd 589 to Rt.50. From there 707 to 611 and south to the Island.

It's been raining here for a week or more but today was just beautiful with plenty of sun. The ride was great but not sure about that seat. Had to get off a couple times but all in all it wasn't that bad. Hopefully It'll soften up some as I ride. Assateague is a real nice park with plenty of wildlife to see. Didn't see any Sika Deer but did see some Whitetail. Of course, plenty of wild Ponies wandering around. The park was pretty busy but having had my park pass made it easier. No waiting to get in. First pictures are from the Isle of Wight area and the rest are in the park. I was using my iPhone camera today. Have a nice DSLR but haven't figured out how to bring it along. Bought a nice backpack but still trying to work that part out. I think I'm going with the rear rack a maybe a hard box that's lockable. I'd be interested in see what other people are doing.

So far I'm really liking my new CB1100 and getting used to riding again. Turning 50 next weekend so I took a couple extra days off. My next ride will be on Friday to either the Blackwater Refuge or maybe Chincoteague Island. Hopefully my Dad will be able to ride with me. Well, thanks for looking.

JIS ( Japanese Industrial Standard ) screw drivers and screw driver bits were mentioned quite a while back, in the excellent post the Ferret created about tools needed for working on the CB1100. In a nutshell, all the screw heads we see on the CB that appear to be a Philips head, are actually JIS Cross Head. I knew about this from doing basic maintenance on Japanese motorcycles over the past 45+ years, but some Japanese bike owners dont know about it.

A Philips screw driver will work, but has a tendency to "cam" out of the JIS Cross Head screw, sometimes causing damage, "boogering", of the screw head. This is something to be avoided, particularly on the clutch and front brake master cylinder covers. Instead of a full size set of JIS screw drivers, I use a set of JIS bits to use with my Craftsman handle. Easy to segregate in a small zip lock bag, inexpensive, and taking very little space in my tool box.

One of the premium Japanese tool brands is Vessel, and the company goes way back. I have a hand impact bought new back in 1968, I still have it, and it works just as well now as when I bought it. After some digging I’m fineally making some progress on some part numbers on the spoke wheel conversion on a 2014 Standard. From what I’ve found the part numbers are the same for 2014-2016 ABS model,not sure about the compatibility with a non ABS model. The only models sold with spoke wheels were all models not sold in the U.S. but do have pretty much the part numbers I need but I can’t buy the parts from any U.S. Honda dealer,none that I’ve found any way. The parts needed I believe are front,rear hubs,rear caliper bracket and longer brake line. Once I get everything I need I’ll do a mock up and look into the issue of the fabricated axel spacers AUSSIEFLYER had to make for his conversion. I’ve got a contact in Japan so worst case scenario I’ll have him send me the parts.

I ordered some items from Samurider and got the standard quote of 2-3 weeks + 1 week for shipping. The first part was right. The shipping part: The box was scanned in at Japan Post (Tokyo) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday (5/15). It was delivered to my door just before 1:00 p.m. today (Friday.) That's three days from Japan to my home in Utah. Sometimes domestic mail takes longer than that! Thank you, Samurider! What a wonderful thing to happen on a Friday. Now I have an excuse to not mow the lawn on Saturday. Farkles always take priority on the weekends

I have a stock 2013 and I am considering some mods and I wonder if someone has done what I am thinking.

Basically I am thinking of leaving the tank red and blacking out much of the silver.

- gators on the forks
- black front fender
- rear fender eliminator with smaller Lucas style taillight
- blacking out the "garnish" grab rails under the seat.
- blacking out the "holder step", the silver bit that the pegs mount to.

If anyone has some photos of this I would love to see them.
