Looking at purchasing a '17 EX and researching tire options. Other than the stock Bridgestones, what are y'all running on spoked rims?

Periodically I have seen members looking for ideas on windscreens. I had been looking at Samuriders Road Comet, an excellent and good looking piece, but a bit more than what I was wanting. I had seen the Dart Marlin and Original Flyscreens, but up to now they only fit CB1100s up to 2016.

The other day I stumbled across the Dart Original and Marlin screens, now available for 2017 Ex & RS. Both come with stainless steel headlight bucket brackets to replace the OEM brackets. The Marlin is $189.95 shipped, the Original is $169.95 shipped. In particular, what struck me, was that the curve and height of the Marlin looks very similar to the classic look of the Road Comet. As a result, I think there is a Dart Marlin in the near future for my 2017 EX.

I had an idea for a product that apparently does not exist at the moment. I have reached out to Sena, and Mr. T, but so far cant get what I am looking for, or someone that understands the reason to make it . I am hoping that there is someone in the membership with the electronics background to make it, and of course I would be interested in feedback on the idea as well.

I went from riding a Harley with self canceling turn signals for 10 years, to my CB1100EX. As much as I try to train myself to cancel the signals, what with attention on the road, traffic, clutching, braking, etc etc, periodically canceling the turn signal is at the bottom of the attention list. I imagine as experienced as many of us are, this is probably a common problem. So, I got to thinking, what about a small wireless transmitter wired into the turn signals, sending a signal to a wireless receiver for a small beeper mounted in the helmet. The receiver/beeper would be powered by a watch battery. Well,no such thing exists at the moment.

Self canceling kits exist, but tend to be expensive, dont always work in all situations, and require modifying the turn signal switch with a rubber plug inside to prevent the switch from locking in the on position.

Inexpensive 95 Db beepers hard wired and mounted to the bike do exist. They can be wired to the turn signals to beep constantly when a signal is on, or partially wired into a brake lamp so that when a brake is applied the beeper is canceled until the brake is released, ...example tun signal on at a stop light with brake applied waiting for the light to change. The problem with that is that with a helmet and ear plugs, plus wind and traffic noise the rider might not hear it. I did find a wireless turn signal LED strip for mounting to the back of a helmet that will light up with turn signal direction when a turn signal is activated. I mention this because it uses wireless transmitter wired into the turn signals to transmit to the led strip via wireless receiver, and at $20, is not cost prohibitive. Personally, I think that no matter how experienced and/or well schooled we are at riding, a small beeper the size of a quarter mounted inside the helmet as an audible reminder to cancel a tun signal would be a good thing. I dont think it should be, or would even need to be, as loud as the 95 Db in the example.

So, small inexpensive wireless transmitters exist, small inexpensive receivers exist, small inexpensive beepers exist. Does anyone have the expertise to put all the components together for the purpose at hand? What does everyone think of the idea, and if such a thing did exist at a reasonable price would you buy one to add to your gear?

I am looking for less chrome and more black on my mirrors. I haven't decided on the shape yet (circular/oval/rectangular... :-? )

I have seen some using mirrors from CB500X. Are the threads handed? Will they fit the '17 model? Do you have part numbers for them?

I'm new here, having just picked up a leftover but brand new 2014.
I passed on the '17 because of the looks of the '14 (and the massively reduced price, of course). I've seen many threads about custom seats and '13-'14 seat swaps but I've not seen the answer to these (hopefully not too stupid) two questions: does the 2014 DLX seat fit on the 2014 Standard? And am I correct in assuming that the part number for a 2014 DLX seat is 77200-MGC-N21ZA?
Would I regret changing seats with a different OEM seat? The only reason I would do this is because the way the DLX seat looks. I use the bike mainly for a 32mile/day commute, with an occasional 100-300 mile daytrip.

I've done a bit of forum searching, but didn't see anything which covered this particular case.

I'm pondering the purchase of a '17 EX. Took a test ride on one the other day and the seat appears to be putting pressure on my perineum; the effect of which, while relatively minor, became noticeable after only 15 minutes. Also it felt a bit cramped, and I've no idea what that'll be like after a few hours since for some reason the dealers look at you funny when you ask.

I've purchased custom seats before; I've got a Day-Long on my DL650 which is the best seat I've ever owned, but I think it'd look a bit wonky on a CB. I'm all about function before aesthetics, but if function can be solved in a way which also looks good, so much the better. So, here's the question: anyone else have this particular problem and, if so, with what seat did you replace the stocker? If it helps:

* all-day comfort. Yes, I take breaks, but even so.
* probably some extra height; I'm spoiled by my Vstrom and am used to a far less cramped position. Looking at lower legs to help solve this, but I may need both.

Bonus points are awarded if you have such a seat, live in the D.C. Metro area and don't mind me coming out and throwing a leg over (not to take the bike out, just to check out the seat).
