Relaxing 6 hour ride: Went to Corn Creek, Cold Creek, Indian Springs, Lee Meadows, Mt Charleston: 159.3 miles on 2.8 gallons of fuel = almost 57 MPG.

Enjoyed photographing wild horses on Lee Meadows (8,000' elevation)

Most comfortable ambient temperature was from 4,000 feet to 6,000 feet.

Bike runs flawlessly, including operating in traffic at 100 F upon my return home.

Not hearing any difference between 10W-30 and 10W40, with engine cold or heat saturated; but the Castrol Power 1 pure synthetic is the same color and level as when I switched from Honda HP4S at 8667 miles, before the 492 mile trip to middle Arizona.

9,550 miles on the odometer and still smiling!

My Diamonds finally came. going to get to work cutting off the pegs. Anything special I should look out for when i buy the mounting tape? I had figured I would just get the strongest most industrial grade outdoor-rated 3M tape i could find, but if there's a better product I should get, Please enlighten me.

N00b question - what is the bar end fitment for the 2014 standard cb1100? 7/8 hollow bar end?
Further context: I’m trying to install bar end mirrors. Also any recs for the bar end mirrors is appreciated!

Continental Road Attack 3 CR will be released later this year with sizes that fit the CB1100. I have the 2 CR version, and they are terrific tires for twisty mountain roads.

Wanted to check out the Tahoma Dam and the road that takes you there (NC 80). We had some storms last week that caused some landslides and i was curious to the damage. I saw two landslides on NC 80, and two very bad road washouts. NC 80 is one of my favorite roads as it is much less trafficked then the dragon or the Parkway.

I ended up taking NC 80 to the parkway and heading up to the peak of Mt Mitchell. From my home location it ended up being about 200 miles round trip.

Love me my CB. Putting about 1K miles per month on it since I got it. I also love my old BMW too, but she likes to be babied and polished more than rode. Thought that I'd add something new for a changeup and ended up settling on a Triumph Speedmaster. The feet-forward posture is a perfect counterpoint to the CB.

So, for the question. The local dealer has one in stock, but with a brown quilted seat. My first reaction was "no way...give me the stock black". The dealer said "no problem...we can change it out for you, or give you the seat that's on it ($300 upgrade) for the same price. "

Having second questions now. My original visceral negative reaction to the brown seat has mellowed a bit. I'm sort of digging it now. I have a couple of days to decide... Thoughts???

As in make it a tad higher/take out the dip and flatten it out?

I reckon that would require a little upholstery to reach around the added foam.

I need something but not quite sold on ordering an expensive seat from Japan only to be not 100% satisfied.

Fits no problem. Very happy with the result.
