My first Beemer was equipped with heated grips. That was in 1986. Since that time, any bike I've owned that might be ridden in the late fall or early springtime was outfitted with some sort of heated grips.

So, with our temps beginning to drop here in NE Ohio, maybe it's time to do the same with the CB. Probably not the rather pricey Honda version ...... most likely a set of those adhesive-backed 'printed wire' heaters. Those and a $5 relay to assure I don't discharge the battery by forgetting to turn them off, and I'll have toasty paws in cooler weather.

Yes, it's clearly a concept bike missing all kinds of stuff for the street. Even though it doesn't have the core components of the Hawk GT (v-twin, twin-spar aluminum frame with a single-sided swingarm) this is probably the closest Honda has come (and likely ever will come) to that design. Hoping all our riding buddies in Fl. made it through the storm alright. My sister in Panama City lost their roof.

I have strong LED lights and accessory lights on my 2 other bikes.
2014 VFR has factory LED and brighten the road as you do not need any additional . My VStrom has LED Bulbs and I installed two additional Fog lights , so bright as day.
CB uses no LED and seems to be not bright either at day or night .
Plan is to change the bulb to DOT approved LED and ad 2 accessory lights or Fog lights .
What would be your recommendations for lights and place to install( I a have SW Motech crash guards installed very low)

I have my CB 1100 in the garage and looks perfect to my eyes.
I have 2 other bikes right now and have learned about them and their needs , this one however is very new to me. so you will see me posting a lot of questions to the forum.
I needed to ride the CB at night , I was riding in the city and streets and freeway were very well illuminated by lights.
I however realized the front head light ,either at high or low beam focuses at something like 10 feet in front of me.
I don't know if it is because of windshield bracket installed that limits the movement of light or it is the factory design. I think I have dart windshield and bracket.

I am so excited that Iam going to ride my 2013 CB 1100 this weeekdn with a big group of riders. I will share my experience after the ride.
I need to install the Chinese GPS recently received for my CB.
it comes with all the mounts and could be easily installed somewhere ,either on handle bar or around.
what is your suggestion for the placement of it? it is a size 5 .
I do not know how to connect it as hot wire, I can put a cigarette lighter or USP socket and wire it from battery and plug it in when bike is on .
for my other bikes I used Eastern Beaver PC8 for connections .
is there any place that it was discussed in this forum before?

Anyone using the Rhinomoto bar end weights with the CRG mirrors? Just need some feedback as I'm planning on putting those on the bike.

I had this set up on an old bike and worked great.

Wanted to ask for the experienced opinion of the group.

Just started to ride my hornet 900 ( 12 years old ) and the brakes although great in stopping power are stiffer to operate than the cb1100 ( 8 years old ).
Over some days i have had every single part of the front brakes, master and both 4 pot calipers ( similar to cb1100 ) apart, cleaned, greased and re-assembled, none show any signs of wear or damage, fresh brake fluid in the lines, bled all the air out and also replaced all the pads; it's better but still sticky .

#1 ;In the morning the lever takes more effort to operate and is slow to return. ( there is some extra play in the handle which slowly disappears as the piston slowly returns in half a minute or so.

#2; after a good couple of squeeze's it frees up to the point that it works acceptable enough and stays fine for some hours, but in the next morning........

#3; pretty sure i have narrowed it down to the master brake cylinder and the only culprits are the rubber seals on the piston.

#4; this has possibly been like this for some time but i started noticing it after comparing it with the cb1100 and another hornet 900 at a dealer closeby that works fine and operates light like the cb1100.

#5; the brakes drag slightly when stiff but release fine and run 100% clear when the lever feels free.

Anybody had a similar scenario and what was the cause?

Someone left a note on my CB1100 when I was at school today (MHCC) to come join this forum (already did in 2015). Will the note writer please stand up?

I've been looking for a pair of slightly lower, narrower chrome handlebars that were the right diameter to fit the stock dampener weights. I had previously installed CB919 bars on my 2013, but they were 4" narrower than stock, and 1.5" lower. Fine on the highway and canyons, but a little too narrow around town.
So on my 2014, I raised the seat by having an upholstery shop almost an inch under the stock cover, so the bar to seat height was effectively lowered (and my knees were less kinked).
But the bars were still too wide, so I loosened and pushed the master cylinder and clutch cylinder as far inboard as practical. It was only an inch on either side, but to make a noticeable difference at freeway speeds (less of a sail), without losing the levereage around town. I did have to redrill the holes for the switch locating pins and for the bar weight retainers. Amazing how a little change makes a big difference.
