Hello all,
I have a 2014 I bought new in August. I haven't ridden it for a few weeks but it doesn't shift out of neutral without shutting down no matter if I shift up or down. Has anyone experienced this and what was the fix? The bike doesn't have the first 600 miles yet and I wasn't sure about adjusting the clutch but maybe the next step. Thank you.

I commuted to work on my CB1100 on December 18th, thinking that it was my last 2-wheeled commute of 2018. The weather was pretty good on Wednesday the 26th, though, so I rode to work one more time. Managed to find a new Chinese restaurant for lunch and squeezed out another 15 miles. I was very sure that this would be my last ride to work for the year since either rain or snow was forecast for Thursday and Friday. The forecasters were correct about Thursday; it was warm, but windy and rainy. They weren't far off for Friday either, with an updated prediction of temperatures dropping from the 40s in the early AM to below freezing by afternoon and snow flurries starting around 4:00pm -- quitting time for me for the day, the week and the year. It seemed to me that it was worth the risk of riding home in less than ideal conditions for the opportunity to take one last ride around town. So that's what I did.
Just slightly colder than predicted at Go To Work time. My app showed some snow coming, but not until I would be safely behind my desk and, again, only a dusting in any case.

Rode to lunch with a friend. Ummm, rode to a local restaurant to meet a friend for lunch.
Just down the street from the restaurant is an old movie house. The Pickwick Theatre was built in 1928 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It houses its original Wurlitzer organ which from time to time is raised through a trap door in the floor to be played on special occasions.
I titled this one "Matinee Idle" on my Instagram feed.

The temperature dropped a bit and a tiny little snow squall moved through during lunch, but it was a precip-free ride back to my office. I dug in at work and wrapped up a few things for year end and then headed to my bike.

The weatherman was right on about he snow flurries at 4:00. Despite that, I turned my 1 mile ride home into a 5 mile ride home and, finally, logged my last commuting miles of 2018 -- My office is closed Monday.

Hello everyone.
Quick question:
Is it possible to modify the shifting linkage on a 2017 to GP shifting?
I did a search. There were two comments and they were both regarding a 2013/14. One was that there are aftermarket rear sets which allow it and the other was that he had made the switch but changed it back because of ergomatics.
Thanks!
Nate

Stopped by State 8 near Peninsula Ohio earlier this afternoon, and noticed a lovely 2017 on the floor. I'd not taken any time in the past to look over one of these beauties, so the salesman pushed her onto the floor where I could give it a better examination.
It truly is a beautiful machine.
Would I consider trading or selling my 2014 and going with another CB instead of switching to a Triumph T120? Don't know ...... I'd have to spend a bit more time in the saddle of my buddy's 2016 Bonnie, then do a bit of demo time on a new CB.
It's taken me a while to get used to the inline 4 vs twins, but it'd be a close contest between the Triumph and the Honda. I like the fact that Honda installed better forks and double wall pipes on the new bike. I'm not a lover of tube type tires, but I lived with them on several bikes with few issues, including a 2000 W650 and a 2003 Bonneville Centennial Edition.
State 8 now handles both Triumph and Honda, though at different ends of the Cleveland area.

Today probably was my last ride of the year 2018.
Temperature was around 0°C and sun was shining, so I decided to go for a ride.

I headed out to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swabian-Franconian_Forest,
passed a lighthouse in the hills (well, not really, the Reinhold-Maier-Turm was a water reservoir, nowadays it is an out-look),

found some small roads,

and was the only rider at the motorcycle meeting point.

Indeed, that was a fun ride along 189 km. The odometer of my Honda CBF1000F now shows 33,581 km for the end of the year 2018.
Tell me about your last ride of the year.

The shortest day of the year has passed. From now 'til June 21, more daylight. I mentally celebrate December 21st as the very early start of a new riding season. Of course, that's weeks out, but we're on the path ...... we've started once again!
