My fairing came in. It was almost 3 months from order to delivery. Worth the wait.

I realize some won’t like it,that’s fine with me. I’ve been working on this thing for about a year off an on. Right after I got my bike I started looking into replacing the taillight but based on the fact that the fender has provisions stamped into it for the taillight I’m pretty much limited as to what I could do. I took the stock taillight and cut a lot of it away,filled in the back side,used a small part of the base,completely reworked it and made a small bezel to cover the front taillight mount. I made to taillight mount from aluminum and molded that to flow into the taillight housing. Everything here is in primer and still needs a little more work but it’s close. I’m going to paint the bike in a few months,the front fender is from a 1983 CB1100F,if I can rework that to fit on the bike then both fenders will be body color,not sure what colors the taillight and brackets will be. Riding today I was wearing my gel ear plugs. First off while geared up and walking to the bike I could feel my footsteps thud through my body. That was weird. About 2 hours into the ride I stopped to eat 1/2 turkey sandwich I had packed in my tank bag and drink a little water. Just pulled over into a shady spot on the edge of a gas station, sat on my seat sideways, flipped my modular shield up and started eating. Chewing and swallowing is an extraordinarily weird sound when your ears are plugged. An hour later I went to pass a slow moving car, signaled I was pulling out, pulled forward, tapped the horn button twice to let the driver know I was passing and ..rats my horn quit working. Finished my pass signaled and pulled back in. Got to thinking about the horn. Bent over right above the tank and hit the horn button again .. greeted with real muted meep meep. It was working, just couldn't hear it with the ear plugs in. I'd say the ear plugs were working too well lol.

I know that this has been discussed a lot, but i'm looking for thoughts. 2016 cb1100abs non spoke 18" wheels.Stock dunlops lasted 11000km then rear was flat in the middle and front was cupped badly. My next set was Bridgestone Battlaxe adventure. Stock size in the front and a 150/70/zr18 in the rear. (stock is a 140 i think). rear is holding out well but the front left side is wearing/cupping.
Is there a michelin tire that works. Not a whole lot in the way of 18" radials out there.
current tires have approx 9000km on them.

I left my 2014 Std with my son in Chicago.

We put on 900 mi in 3 days going around Lake Michigan counterclockwise....we took the ferry ride (the smaller faster one) from Milwaukee to Muskegon, then the tunnel of trees.

After putting only seven thousand miles on it in 5 years that was quite a few miles in three days.

We experienced 94 degree Heat, 3 hours of solid rain, and two perfectly beautiful days in the 70s.

My son's a new Rider but he drives a manual transmission so he picked it up quickly.

I would like to get him some running lights and maybe a rear rack in case anyone sees a good deal.

He plans on commuting as much as possible.

Hello to all from Ontario Canada! hope everyone is enjoying the summer ! I have a question about front brake rotors. My 2016 cb had just under 20,000 km and I am in need of a set of replacement rotors. This will be the second set. I now have a brake vibe under moderate to heavy braking from highway speed. The first set were o.e.m replacements that were close to $800 cdn. That really hurt and I don't want to pay that again lol. I found a trw mst278 replacement , has anyone used these?

(on an unrelated note, my plastic headlamp bucket fell apart. I replaced it with a metal one and fitted it with a "trucklite" led headlamp)
