I was enjoying my loop through the foothills west of Willows and Orland when I spotted a trio of turkey vultures enjoying a roadside snack. I began slowing as the two on the outside hopped off and the one on the inside jumped up and took a couple quick flaps in front of me. I zigged and just caught the end of a wing on my left mirror with a light thump.
A quick glance in the mirror showed no apparent damage to the bird, and I stopped shortly after to get this photo of Stony Creek.

Lots of water for this time of year after our wet winter last year. I spotted roadside deer lounging in the shade of the oaks, a flock of turkeys, a ground squirrel perched on a fence post and doves were weaving across the road, all close to the creek in the otherwise dry landscape.
West of I-5 there was no traffic today, had a very enjoyable ride.

I had problems when I first installed my fobo t.p.m.s. I found the problem to be bad batteries.. the fobo came with extras and they were bad also, almost making me give up on the unit.. I gave it one last shot.. I bought brand new, name brand batteries.. and that solved the problem.. there was the question, how long will new batteries last.. well I have just found out.. the first sign of a battery weakening happened today.. it has been over 7 months..

I am in need of a little help again. I just finished the install of the TSR Funnel and Intake Upgrades and ended up with this as a spare part?

Anybody do this job and know where this goes. I do not remember taking it off and it was on the lift when I was done. It did not break off… it is @ 1 inch long and @ 1/8 inch in diameter. It has a point on one end and flat on the other.

If I could add a picture I would.

2017 CB1100EX. Has anyone fitted the Corbin Gunfighter & Lady seat with the Hepco & Becker luggage rack. I am concerned about the width of the seat about 5 inches from the back. Will it fit between the H & B rack tubes.
I have tried several times to get info from Corbin without success & I have looked at dozens of pictures to try to get an answer. Among those pictures is a view of the underside of the seat. I was hoping to scale this picture against the Honda seat, but the image is of such a low resolution (pixelated) that it is useless.

if anyone has the Corbin seat a good photo of the underside could help me determine the fit.

I've searched the threads but I dont see any posts involving airbox removal with pod filters or velocity stacks. I've seen it on old CBs, but not really on the newer 1100s. Is this not a mod most do?

I had a Triumph Thruxton previously and honestly that was the most bang for the buck mod I did, and it looked amazing!

I don't know if anyone noticed that I've been missing for a couple of weeks.
Hurricane Dorian hit us pretty hard, knocked out power to half the province and did a lot of tree damage.
I made it through with no damage but was without power for several days. On top of that my PC started to act up and was on the verge of crashing. It's still in the shop.
I have wifi and borrowed an old iPad so I do have Internet access now.
I'll try to catch up on the forum but this small device is a bit of a pain, LL!

I've been kicking around the idea of a nimble mountain road carver for sometime and the CBR300r has been on the radar. I stupidly went to my local shop today (where I bought my CB1100) to kill some time as I was near. I spied the 2019 version in the back crammed in with others of the ilk. I couldn't sit on it as there was no room to even walk beside it. But I gave it a once over and considered the $4300ish sales price, not too bad. As I was leaving I saw a red, small, CBR something in the used section of the lot. It didn't have a cc decal on it so I guessed maybe a 500? It was a little tired looking and in need of some TLC (which I can provide). The salesman came out and we looked it up, 2015 CBR300r 8200 miles. I was out of time so I hit the road on my (friggin GLORIOUS) CB1100, yes, it does keep getting better, after telling the salesman to email me a price. 20 min later I had an email which stated $3000 out the door. Aw man, might just have to do it.

P.S. Sat on a Monkey, nicely done, but I can see why Alprider put aftermarket shocks on the back. Quite soft.

In search of more adventures i am thinking of acquiring a gps of some sort.
But from what i can see ( or rather not see ) the screens are difficult to read in direct sunlight, i had a sony video camera that had a transflective screen that had no problem in direct sunlight, the colors were a bit different but the screen was perfectly usable, and so far i have not seen any video's that show a clear enough screen with good contrast that would be good to use.

The visibility was not very good with my current gps when used in direct sunlight either but that is a 10 year old machine and works ok in the car, it worked in the shade but it would be nice if technology had improved to the point that it was sufficient in sunlight.

Most video's show a washed out screen and some appear to have a video overlay that appears to show a photoshopped screen for a very short time in the hope that nobody notices the trick before buying one.

And of course i know that paper maps need no batteries and are very readable in a sunny day, the thing is taking the map out and putting on reading glasses on a lot of intersections is not a very practical approach or much fun if you don't have a tank bag and safety becomes questionable as well.

So after all that i wonder; are there any success stories out there that are worth considering?
