My brother just bought a 2020 Zero S
Posted by: pdedse - 10-18-2019, 11:10 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (22)

He calls to wish me Happy Birthday and then spends 40 mintues telling me about his 2020 brand new Zero S he bought--what kind of brother does that on one's birthday?!? Haha...

I'm happy for him--it's his first bike. He had been threatening to buy a Victory for years, but just never followed through. Was in Dallas (he lives in MO) and a dealer had one in model / color he liked, after a test ride...he bought it and had it shipped home.

Says its city range is 120miles and hiway only about 65, but he's ok with that as it's going to be a commuter bike mainly.

Old GIVI mount and bags on 2014 CB
Posted by: rboe - 10-18-2019, 08:45 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

A buddy picked up a Nighthawk with the GIVI system on it and didn't want it so he sold it to me. Finally got around to adapting to the CB with the help of a mutual friend - with a welder.

I do have some clearance problems with the muffler, "may" need to look at a smaller aftermarket unit to keep the saddlebag from melting. I have a heat shield but fear it may not be good enough.

I test fitted my 56l GIVI top case and it clears much better. No ribs to act as feet.

  2016 CB1100EX vs 2017 CB1100EX
Posted by: Jfro5687_imp - 10-18-2019, 12:22 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

Hi all,

Has anyone ridden both versions of the EX model and if so were there any significant differences? I am close to buying a late 2016 model with very low miles. I like the colour. I know there are some cosmetic differences which don't bother me and I quite like the more boxy petrol tank with seams that all the journo's jump up and down about. So thats not a problem either .

I know Honda went to great lengths with the CB so does it automatically mean the latest model is 'better' than the earlier one? I know what the 2017 model is like but i cant easily get to test ride this one you see.

Kind regards jon

  Bias Ply vs Radial
Posted by: bigsheep_imp - 10-16-2019, 12:24 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (24)

Hello,

Looking for a little info. With our limited options for tires I was just wondering if someone could explain the difference and how it affects our bikes? I'm leaning towards sticking with Radials, but what if any would be the consequences of going Bias-Ply on the CB?

The Avon Roadrider is available in our stock sizes in Canada and less expensive than our other options.

  Photobucket two years after
Posted by: postoak_imp - 10-16-2019, 09:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

In case you are wondering how well Photobucket's new business model of charging $499 per year for hosting worked. Nine months after they made the change the owner replaced his executives with a new team. A couple of months later the new CEO announced a new pricing structure with free hosting for a small number of photos. But the damage had been done. Today, Photobucket has 10 employees compared to 120 at its peak. It has downsized to a smaller building. Who knows what the future will bring?

How to remove turn signal bracket on 2013 model
Posted by: Mtnduc_imp - 10-15-2019, 11:00 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (6)

My son’s friend lightly wrecked his 2013 and I’m putting it back together for him.
How do you remove the bracket holding the front turn signals?
It seems to be inserted into both the upper & lower triples.
Loosen and pull the top triple up?
TIA

  a poor man's go-pro
Posted by: Chuckk_imp - 10-15-2019, 03:23 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

I had a little extra space, so I thought I would fill it.. I had taken all of the RAM hardware off of my last goldwing, so there was no cost this time.. the Iphone mike made tons of noise, but I had a head-set that made the audio really nice.. especially with the new plexistar 2.. the biggest problem is with the video and vibration.. I don't shoot enough videos to warrant the expense of a go-pro and its accessories .. so this is what I came up with.. comments are welcome.. (of course )..does anyone know of an app that offers audio and video ?.. something besides you tube ..

in the video, I took the bike up to 75 m.p.h.. in that straightaway..
I have used this little BB for some time now.. it works well for taking pictures or starting and ending videos.. one must be really careful with the glue.. if it runs into the side of one of the volume control buttons, you are in trouble.. I had that happen to me years ago.. the plus button for raising the volume is now frozen, so I have to use the other option to control the volume..[b][font=Verdana][size=medium]
