Photobucket two years after - postoak_imp - 10-16-2019 In case you are wondering how well Photobucket's new business model of charging $499 per year for hosting worked. Nine months after they made the change the owner replaced his executives with a new team. A couple of months later the new CEO announced a new pricing structure with free hosting for a small number of photos. But the damage had been done. Today, Photobucket has 10 employees compared to 120 at its peak. It has downsized to a smaller building. Who knows what the future will bring? https://www.thephoblographer.com/2019/05/06/remember-photobucket-theyre-back-and-promising-nice-features/?hotlinkfix=1571266833962 https://www.denverpost.com/2018/05/17/photobucket-image-hosting-plans/?hotlinkfix=1571266881590 RE: Photobucket two years after - peterbaron - 10-16-2019 Too bad and too late, I am not using their service. RE: Photobucket two years after - GoldOxide_imp - 10-16-2019 Any cloud storage service ought to be used for backup and convenience access only. If you "pay to lose it", well, ... we've been warned. RE: Photobucket two years after - Randy B - 10-16-2019 Whomever suggested that pay to use model for a service that was free to use for over a decade, killed the business. RE: Photobucket two years after - postoak_imp - 10-16-2019 I think they would have been okay if they had announced a $5 fee to keep your account active AND if they had publicized this widely. Then, a year later, again after much publicity gone to a $5/month fee. RE: Photobucket two years after - FLYTYM_imp - 10-25-2019 Photo Bucket is dead,I’ll NEVER pay for a photo hosting service considering there are so many free sites. RE: Photobucket two years after - postoak_imp - 10-25-2019 What are some free sites? RE: Photobucket two years after - peterbaron - 10-25-2019 I use free Imgur...so far RE: Photobucket two years after - GoldOxide_imp - 10-26-2019 With some limitations, one could consider OneDrive, DropBox and Google Drive. As with anything in the cloud, they can give'th, ... and they can take'th away. RE: Photobucket two years after - TwoBrothersBusa_imp - 10-26-2019 I've been using them since 07. I've got thousands of posted pictures hosted by the site and it will be a sad day for hosting if / when they fold. I started with them setting up a photo shoot putting a magnacharger blower on my 05 Mustang GT. [url=http://s126.photobucket.com/user/cwwskw/media/IMG_1917.jpg.html]
